We had a bad foreign tournament in 1998-99 on a team that went to the Sweet 16 (albeit, as a 13 seed). But, it happens and we'll get over it. We also lost to Murray State that year at home before it.

Very true, but we were at least competitive in those games, and the competition was better. The last two games have been brutal. Losing by 3 or 4 point against a decent team is one thing. The way we are playing is a completely different story.

But your point is a good one. It is way too early to make a declaration one way or the other about this squad.

The problem is we are staring at the following games still left in our OOC: Arkansas, Arizona, at Utah, UTEP (neutral), @ Gonzaga.

If we lose to Arkansas, we'll be in deeper than we thought. Arizona is good, not great. But I see your point.

The Carolina team that won the national championship a few years back (Felton, McCants, May) were 17-15 their freshman season. Things may look dismal now, but this team can still grow into a great team. Maybe not this year, but down the road.
