If Trae wins it that will be OUs third since Blake Griffin. When was that? About 8 years ago? Pretty impressive.

It should help recruiting. These kids will remember Griffin, Heild and Young

I noticed that Baker said that Blake got him the tickets to the NBA game the other night.

Three different Naismith winners in 10 years is something only two programs have accomplished - UCLA and Duke...nice company to be in if Trae is fortunate enough to win it.

Will he hit the wall ...

I have been watching OU basketball since my senior year at OU (1977). I have never seen anything like Trae Young in Crimson and Cream. He is an absolute joy to observe.

Over the years, I have seen many freshman basketball players “hit the wall” later in their freshman season as their inexperienced young minds, bodies and emotions wear down from the long grind of a long college basketball season. It is a long grind of battling against older, stronger and more mature players.

Now enter Trae Young, playing more than 32 minutes per game at the point guard position, which is the the most pressure packed position on the floor. Due to his outstanding efficiency and success, he has the added pressure of national media focus. Game after game, he is the primary focus of outstanding coaches and players on the opposing teams.

I don’t know if Trae will wear down by the time February rolls around. I tend to think not. Trae is special on many fronts. I think he will just jump over that wall.

If he does jump over that wall, then POY honors are very possible.

Right now Trae is running away with player of the year. You f the seaso. Was over he would be a unanimous selection
