I like his athleticism, reminds me of the PG that played for UTEP this year.

Geez, it's not like the posted the interview, premium nazi.

Actually, that was kind of my point - there wasn't any other premium info to get from the link since the name of the commit was basically all that Hale posted.

That's great. No one said it was premium. The article I posted was which I stated, that way people who don't have access wouldn't click the link.

so do we have Newell?

YES. YES. YES.

Found this blurb on a rivals thread from a guy that I guess is familiar with the kid (for better or worse). Generally everyone that has seen him play agrees that he is a solid athlete that can score.

"Great to hear about Calvin... Got a call yesterday from Florida about him s this legit... Definitely a high level athlete/scorer, total game just wasn't complete as it may well be now... Even out of HS, I'd have to say that at worst he was a Mid Major prospect (CAA) with High MM Potential (A-10/C-USA) so this jump is no surprise...

What people don't know is behind the scenes, Newell is a Tireless worker on his game and on his body, plus he's got that pit bull mentality which allows "OUR" kids to excel especially when they go to schools down south and out west as they are just much tougher kids...

On not playing D, never worried me, with his physical tools, he always had the potential to be a top level backcourt defender... It was NEVER that he couldnt defend, just that he chose not to, BIG DIFFERENCE..."

Glad we got another point guard, but this is nothing to write home about. As I understand it, the kid was down to OU and Niagara. Niagara, for ****'s sake!

Get a grip this kid had offers from major d1 schools not just "Niagara". Calvin has great athleticism and is a big time scoring point guard who has the ability to defend that TMG did not. He attacks defenses and will put pressure on teams to defend the paint as well as the 3 point line. I do not understand why everyone gets caught up in him having "Niagara" as one of his finalist.

he was also offered by florida and baylor... get a clue for ****'s sake!

I'm curious to see if Capel 2.0 has him riding serious pine when he "chooses not to."
