Possible transfers

Guy probably shouldn't even be starting for us. I'll be pretty disappointed if this is the type of transfer we're bringing in.

He started half the games for duke the past 2 years. We could do a lot worse.

Certainly, Duke is Duke. They're on TV more than Leave it to Beavahh reruns.

13-10, 10th place in the ACC Duke?

I'd rather let Cortes and/or our other young guards play those minutes. Some of that is dependent on who else we land, but if we aren't going to be good next year, bringing in a 1 year kid like this that takes minutes from our future isn't ideal. Goldwire is nothing more than a warm, veteran body.

Where is Nick Thompson when you need him? I mean, he did have some size.

Gotta survive year 1 any way you can.

Goldwire would be a very solid addition. Amazing defender that would make Cortes & Mason a lot better.

And while Duke had a tough year, coming from a winning program with great coaching playing top tier talent. My only issue is that he and Harkless are great defenders ... gotta get some scorers at some point.

If we could get him + the Groves brothers, that gives us a really solid core.

Goldwire
Gibson
Harkless
Hill
Tanner Groves

Jacob Groves
Cortes
Mason
Noland
O'Garro
Issanza

That leaves us 2 scholarships for the best players (preferably two frontcourt players or Bryce/Tamar Bates type
+ frontcourt depth).

I agree I don’t want someone stalling development of the young bucks. I don’t think this is that type of guy though. Say what you want about their record this year but Duke have 5* players up and down their roster the last 4 years. He has been a key contributor during that stretch. His defense and ball handling look very good. Seems like a guy that would fit in on an early 2000s ou team.

Jacob Groves would start over Hill

I wish we paid players to come to OU. OH WELL. I guess we’ll be fine with 7th place forever.

I think they should re-rank the players in the portal. Seeing Tanner Groves at the bottom of the SF list as unranked hurts my head.

We struck out on keeping Harmon and Manek. We struck out on Bishop. Who are our realistic targets? What happened to Krutwig from Loyola?

Idk why anyone keeps talking Krutwig.

We're going after both Groves, we're going after the Duke PG, we're going after Thompson. There's several players in the portal we've reached out to.
