I think we will go either 13-1 or 12-2 with the other lose being either at VCU or at Utah. The possible lose to the Utes or Rams could easily occur if we have a poor shooting night.

12-2 or 11-3 with a lose to either Utah or VCU

Your picks look pretty good to me. I'm not sure about Arizona. I would probably pick that one as a L but being in Norman helps a lot. Of course they are very young and not particularly big either. I think that might be a fun one. I also think going to Gonzaga is going to result in a loss. I think Utah is also a loss bad shooting night or not. I think the size and experience they have gets us. So, I'll go with three losses in the nonconference schedule.

If the team plays like we expect it could I agree with you based on the talent OU has across the board. But I just get the feeling that there is going to be a game or two that we shouldn't lose (based on talent) that we will due to youth. Just seems like with the make up of the team there will be a "Stephen F Austin" esqu game this season, hopefully it will happen at home and our fan support can continue and maybe give the team a boast when needed.
Honestly something about that trip to Alaska with the young team we have that early in the season scares me a little, San Diego and Houston both seem like big time trap games right now.

Utah and Gonzaga will both be tough games. Utah mostly because it's a road game, but also because they replace their center Nevill with Jason Washburn, who redshirted and should be prepared to step in at center.

Was Nevill the guy who tripped Blake?

I think we lose one of Arizona or Arkansas. I haven't decided which one yet. I'm leaning toward Arkansas though. I just think with the young team we stumble somewhere even if it's at home. Utah is another tough one.

I expect to be around 10-6 or 9-7 in conference so I guess I'm picking right around 21 to 23 wins which will be really solid for a team replacing the unanimous player of the year in the country.

Zepp,
I could see that. Arkansas seems more likely than Arizona to me. Arizona has Nick Wise, but lost their other two big guns in Buddiger and Hill.

Arkansas on the other hand has everybody back. They scare me.

12-2 or 13-1 is about right. I would pick Utah and Gonzaga as the losses.

12-2 or better. Our tougher games (Utah and Gonzaga) are later in the non-conference, that gives the team some time to learn to play together. With the talent we have, 14-0 is not out of reach.

I agree with you and was thinking of putting that in my post. The schedule bodes well for being ready to play the tougher opponents.

arizona/gonzaga/vcu/arkansas/utah will all be tough for such a young team. i say 11-3

12-2 in the non-conference would be best case, IMO.. but I could definitely see the Sooners dropping a game to Arizona, Utah, WSU, UTEP, or VCU.. all have the talent to beat OU if they have an off night.. so I could see OU dropping one or two of those games in addition to the Ark and Zaga games. I'd probably give a solid guess on an 11-3 record, but the third loss is kind of a crap shoot to me. UTEP is definitely a game that could sneak up on us or even Washington State. UTEP is right before Christmas break with a big showdown against Gonzaga on the horizon. Washington State would be our third game in four days.. I definitely think OU is much better than the Cougars, but it seems like "one of those games"...
