Question about Mustang boys...

Understand. Didn't mean them as lies. Just they wouldn't be much without them.

Ou pulled long and Meyers offers for a reason. Doesn't mean they won't be good players.

Nah...it's good. My only question to people is, what do you consider a move in? When they move in in 5th grade, 7th, 8th?

BTW, the thing that people also miss is, Terry's a GREAT developer of talent. He's highly strict and hard on these guys and they give up individual accolades for the good of the team. That's another draw for a college coach...all of these kids have proven to be extremely selfless and coachable

Why do people even care if a kid moves in period? It's high school basketball.

:facepalm if you don't know then any rational answer will not be suffice.

Let's pay them as well... Just High school

Generally comes down to jealous parents and coaches.

Kids switch high schools all the time for academic reasons...music, math, science, etc., without and ramifications. There should be no difference between that and athletics, given the family moves into the defined district. If a kid is in good academic standing...why does it matter?

Sometimes there is a better opportunity somewhere else...there is nothing wrong with pursuing it. You wouldn't trade jobs if something better came along?

I won't say Terry is a great developer of talent he has had talented teams but besides his son he didn't develop those kids. Terry lives off of transfers he did it at Douglass. As for transfers his best player Haywood is a transfer known fact they didn't win anything last year because he was ineligible.

It has more to do with coaches recruiting kids. No hs coach should be recruiting kids that haven't played in HS yet. It goes on a lot in Okc

Shocker that Terry isn't given any credit.

They went to the semis last year without a real 3 point threat. Add Johnson to that mix and they probably get to the finals. It's all speculation, but let's not act like they all moved in this year.

He's a good coach. Just a better recruiter.

OK...SMH.

If he were recruiting, he'd have more top flight talent. There's a couple of those kids that have gotten noticeably better just since last year. Come watch them practice and you will appreciate what he does.

I'd argue he doesn't HAVE to recruit, just like Jenks and Union no longer have to recruit. The guy has connections, the school has facilities and unequalled support. Kids want to play for him and it seems the more his players talk about their experiences as a student in Mustang, the more likely a kid would want to move out here...actually, their parents do.

I'll give him credit for making their personalities mesh. I won't give him credit for developing players. He didn't develop Meyer he is the same player he was as a freshman athletic no post moves. Johnson was a shooter before Terry got there. I never said they all moved in BUT their best player Curtis Haywood was not on that team last year because he transferred. Long wins because of talent. He did it with Douglass

More top flight talent?? Lol he recruited lower level d1 kids!

It goes on everywhere...influence is a part of life. The only reason this is an issue is because of parents and coaches who say it isn't "fair".

Life ain't fair.

Whatever. Meyer is 50 times the player he was as a freshman.

BTW, what's the recruiting pitch for a high school player? "Come to my school and you'll get to play basketball and get your high school diploma paid for..." Think about that for a second. Two of these kids MOVED to Mustang, primarily because Terry has an existing relationship with them through A1...the rest have relationships with kids on the team and want the best chance to get a scholarship. If by recruiting you mean Terry told them he'd help them get that scholarship, then that's fair. Problem is, you guys are implying he can't coach and the kids are low level D1 talent. There's loads of 6A schools with that kind of talent and Mustang beat most of them by 20.

BTW, guess who was named the tournament MVP? It wasn't any of the "recruits".

Lots of jealousy and butt hurt.

What position does your son play?

Who high d1??? Just tell us how u are tied to the program?

I have zero tie to the program other than knowing these kids - 3 of them for just about their entire athletic lives. I graduated from Mustang almost 30 years ago.

Did you guys figure out who the tournament MVP was yet?
