I really wish I could put OSU last but I just don't see it. I also don't believe KSU is particularly good. I just don't see how they could be.

I want us to take the number 1 crown from KU. I want it so badly. However, I think the primary reason KU wins every year (freakish talent aside) is because they RARELY lose to teams in bottom half of the conference (@KSU last year, @TCU 3 years ago -- those are the only ones I can think of). We seem to always drop 1-3 games to teams we are definitely better than. I do think we're extraordinary and focused this year, so fingers crossed we finish #1!

That and it doesn't hurt that they can basically chalk up 9 home wins every year. Credit to their fans for making it a difficult atmosphere, but I think it's become pretty clear that the Big 12 refs have a big hand in it as well.

But if and when we've won the conference, there wouldn't be any point in us offering rankings. We'd officially be no. 1 in the conference.

It's a 12-16 ranking, not a prediction for the end of the season. Is OU a better team right now than KU?

Yep...this conference slate is gonna be a bloodbath. Regarding the middle tier teams (KSU, Texas, maybe Tech)....I think it's reasonable to assume that an 8-10 conference record just might be good enough for a tournament bid in this league....assuming you haven't had a dreadful OOC performance.
