Recruiting Question

Totally agree, OU needs another point guard. Guards win in college basketball and OU needs another point. TMG needs some rest during the game and I think it would help with some of his second half struggles because he is tired.

Not coming off a season like this, it isn't.

If we enter the season with our goal being to finish over .500 next year, things aren't going to turn out well.

It's fine if your realistic expectations as a fan don't have us winning the Big 12 Championship.

But if that isn't our team's goal all season, then I don't want to watch a minute of them.

Who said that should be our goal? There is A LOT in between .500 and winning the Big 12. As good as our program has been, how many conference championships do we have in the last 20 years? Why set a goal that most every OU team doesn't obtain?

The goal next year should be to improve, finish in the top 3-4, be a top 25 team, and win a game or two in the tournament. Nothing more, nothing less. If Capel wants to throw winning the Big 12 in there as kind of the carrot at the end of the stick, fine. But that isn't what the team should be focussing on. That goal is too far off, most likely.

You seem to understand very little about competition and motivation.

Hell, OSU's goal in football two years ago was to play in the Big 12 Championship. We made fun of them and made a deal about it, but I can respect it.

If there's anybody who doesn't think they should be winning the championship every single year, then I don't want them.

Why stop at the big 12 championship...

With a perfect season.

If our players aren't going for undefeated seasons, I don't want them.

I know you're trying to be sarcastic to make a point, but it's true.
I don't want anybody that will be content unless they've won everything.

Being content, and setting semi-realistic goals are two seperate things.

Next year's team, likely, won't have the talent to win the NC. Should they really be disappointed at the end of the year if they don't? That isn't on the players, that is on Capel to build a team that has that chance.
