Great teams have nights like this, how they respond to this lose will determine how great they can be. Even in their two loses coming into this game, most media people were saying how great they were. Let's see how they respond to this lose. Who knows if they win the nc, we could be looking back at this game as the turning point.

Monday is going to be a difficult game but we have to win it. Texas is playing really well right now, very tough team.
You couldn't be more correct. All teams have bad nights. But, I wish people would quit talking about the NC. Ain't gonna happen. This team is not near physical enough, doesn't play good enough D, nor has the post play. Is OU very, very good when they're clicking? Absolutely. But OU isn't winning the NCAA tournament this year. They live and die by the outside shot and it cannot be sustained for 6 games as you go further in the tourney against great defensive teams. People need to temper their expectations. Can OU win the Big 12? Sure. Let's just enjoy what they can do and enjoy the ride..

I hate losing...well my team to lose. I know it happens...it was frustrating tonight because of how OU played. It's over...ut looms ahead, huge game.

There aren't any great teams or great defensive teams. A lot of teams can win it this year and we are one of them.

I disagree I think they have just as good of a chance as any other team. Not saying they are going to win, but they definitely can. Guard play is huge in the tournament. UConn's last two nc proved that. Walker's play that year is what won them the first one and Napier and Boatwright carried that team on their last one. I think OU's guard could definitely do that. They already have. Again not saying they are going to win the nc, but they can. Either way it has been a great season.

Our backcourt gives us a better than even chance to win every game we play in the NCAA tourney. Tonight's game was an anomaly. I don't think we'll see another like it the rest of the season where so many players have a bad night.
This team has given all of us so many reasons to cheer and be happy, I don't see how anyone can let a loss on the road spoil what has already been a great season? Disappointed, maybe, especially with how we played. But I have no doubt that we'll see a different team Monday night!

I agree about guard play, but this OU team is nowhere near where it needs to be on the defensive end to even talk about a championship. UCONN was 10th in defensive efficiency the year they won it. Duke was 12th last year and Louisville was 3rd the year they won it. We are 37th currently. Now, we certainly have time to improve upon that and it should be priority number one on the practice court the remainder of the season.

I agree D needs to be better. But this team has proved they can play D at a high level. I'm wondering if this team got into the mind set that they could shoot their way to any win, so they didn't play as hard on that side of the ball. Hopefully this will be a wake up call.

Just wish we had more depth...I think that more than anything will b the issue. The subs played worse than the starters...which wasn't good...lol

I've seen way too many tournament to eliminate any really good team before it starts. I'll stay open minded to the whole thing.
That's a bit premature because of one bad game. Let's see how this team responds. Can we play defense the way we did yesterday and win the title? Not a chance in a million, but I'm curious to see if our D going forward is the one we saw yesterday or the one we saw at Baylor. As for poor shooting bringing us down, I don't see that happening. I don't expect to hit 10-15 three-point shots every game, but we actually would (or could) have won yesterday if the poor outside shooting didn't affect the defense.
Bottom line...gotta play much better D.

Yes....we fell from #2 to #5 based upon yesterday's game. Kenpom doesn't take wins/losses into account in his metrics, he only measures efficiencies on offense and defense while weighting those with tempo (pace of play) and SOS. We were so poor on defense yesterday (by letting a poor scoring team shoot very well against us) that our defense efficiency dropped 14 spots...thus causing our overall ranking to drop 3 spots.
