I think one game is the perfect sample size to evaluate someone's defensive abilities. Well done.
Also -- Smart didn't cause Angel Rodrigeuz "any problems", huh? So committing 4 of K-State's 9 turnovers and 3 of 16 shooting is "no problems," huh?
Yeah - Smart clearly had a very poor defensive game against Rodriguez.
Brilliant analysis.
Again you're comparing Smart as a true freshman to Tony Allen when he was a junior/senior.
And also again, Smart led the league and was 3rd in the country in steals. Does someone who is "not that quick" generally end up 3rd in the country in steals?
OswhoJeff - Uh, I watched the whole game and YES, not once did Smart cause Angel a problem OR a turnover. Yes he had some but NOT because of Smarty pants guarding him. And yes, I don't analyze games where the opposing point guard sucks, I look at when he is going against quality. And there are other games against quality PG's this year that he had no steals against them and osu got hammered. So go do your own analysis WITHOUT your ugly orange glasses on. Smart, like several other posters on here have said, is not quick enough and doesn't handle well enough, to be a PG in the NBA AND he is too short and doesn't shoot well enough YET to be a 2 guard in the league. He may prove us wrong but right now a team drafting him that high is just taking a risk, IMO
