Rumors flying around that Floyd is out at USC...

Apparently, there's also a rumor that one of their bigger recruits is asking out of and has been granted a release from his LOI...seems to be quite a bit of smoke to Floyd being going...

Noel Johnson is their biggest recruit and he's out of Georgia. Capel recruited him early on.

Guess passing on the Zona job wasnt so smart. Damaged goods.

there were a lot of rumblings floyd would be the sacrificial lamb to save football from getting hammered by the NCAA

Wouldn't getting rid of Floyd kind of show a bit of guilt on the behalf of USC, and then that could in turn be used against them for the football issue as well, especially now that the NCAA combined the two into one major case...

Firing Floyd is an admission of guilt on the basketball side of things, IMO, which could get them the lack of institutional control tag, as a whole...

I don't know how the NCAA works but in law subsequent remedial measures are not admissable to prove liabilty. So if you build a product that is alleged to be defective and you fix the alleged defect, they cannot use the fact that you improved (or fixed) the product as proof that the product was defective. The reason is you don't want to discourage people from doing the right thing (fixing the defect).

Absolutely. That's why Kelvin and OU left on amicable terms without OU trying to match Indiana's offer, which wasn't alot more than what Kelvin was getting at OU. If Kelvin stayed around OU's sanctions would have been alot more steep and probably would have included a year of post season probation, imo. Baylor would have probably got the SMU death penalty if they would have even entertained keeping Bliss around.
