Rumors of a point shaving scandal

The team’s most recent loss to the Pirates is also under question. The Orange suffered one of the worst losses at home in the program’s history, falling 90-68 as 12.5-point favorites. Jardine scored 11 points in that game, shooting 4 for 10 from the field and finishing with three turnovers.

See now this is stupid. Why would anyone question the Pitt game? Cuse lost by 22 yet were 12.5 point favorites. That doesn't make sense. If your point shaving you still try and win the game. It would be easy to throw a few plays and win by under 10. It's next to impossible unless a big chunk of the team is involved to lose by 22. Plus it just doesn't make sense.

Billy Tubbs says if you don't try to score every point you possibly can, you're shaving points.

If players go into a game with the attitude they want to keep the game close, in other words not try to blow the other team out, you can get blown out yourself.

Easing up on the gas just a bit can cause you to swerve and crash. If two players are involved and you turn off the intensity, it can affect the whole team.
