Schedule

Really?!

Don't forget you're talking about an OU fan base where anything short of perfection is usually not good enough. I'm also wondering if you're going to be able to soften your own position that much? You have definitely changed in the last couple of months, for the good I might add. I'm just saying being content with a record of 1-2, or even worse 0-3, may be a bit of a stretch.

Forgive me, but I'll have to see it to believe it. :)

Content is definitely not what I would be if we went 1-2 or worse. Hoping for 2-1 with that stacked lineup like in the Bahamas three years ago. Well some of the people on here have a hard time with change for the better or for the worse so regardless of my attitude during game threads next year I think their opinion of me will be unchanged. Doesn't bother me :chestram2:

Something tells me you won't have these same sentiments if ou happens to go 1-2 or 0-3.

For me, I will be very disappointed with anything less than 2-1. No excuses for next season after what we witnessed this season.

You're probably right. Working on it one therapy session at a time ;)

Those people haven't recognized the change. They will in time, so don't be discouraged. I know you're different, and so do you. Isn't that the important thing? :chestram2:

Depends on the football teams record by November ;)

This team should finish in the top half of the conference and be a 4-5 seed or better in the NCAA. The three game sample size of the one tourney is too small to say we need to do this or that, although obviously 0-3 would be a big disappointment.

It would probably be even worse because that would mean a likely loss to either Portland or Portland State.

This.

And having those expectations doesn't make you any less of a fan.

So Cal will be tough too. They got the Bannon kid who played with Trae in the All-American Game

Did it clarify which 'USC' it is? If it's the team that went to the FF then the schedule may be tougher next year than this year. Better win some of these close games next year.

The real USC, southern Cal. They'll likely be a preseason top 20 team.

The real USC cheerleaders are worth the price of admission.

Why are we signing on for a road game against a Top 15 team? The murderer's-row schedule didn't pay off for us this year, and though we'll be more experienced (and hopefully better) next season, one of our key players -- perhaps our most important player -- will be a true freshman with about a month's experience when we travel to LA to play USC.

I'm not saying I want us to play nothing but weak sisters, but sheesh, our non-conference schedule's shaping up to be pretty darn tough. If we enter Big 12 play with five or six losses, that's going to be very frustrating -- because by season's end, we could be a much better team (with TY getting his legs under him as the season progresses) and still miss the tourney because of non-conference losses.

If last year's non-conference schedule was "Murderer's Row," then our standards have really dropped. We consistently played quality opponents, but outside of the SEC Challenge, we didn't play anybody higher than an 8 seed. It wasn't our schedule that was the problem this year; it was our team.

I'm convinced that the Big XII is so overhyped that we're going to the tourney if we go 10-8 regardless of our non-conference. Bring on the competition.

How exactly was last year murderous row?

I don't mind. Gets us exposure in LA, on TV, etc etc. This team should be more experienced, and therefore needs more of a challenge if they truly want to be good.
