Assuming that OU, UT and aTm (along with FSU in the east division) will likely be the invitees to the SEC in the course of the next few weeks. What do you think about the hoops landscape?

No more Mizzou or KU kind of sucks (okay, a lot sucks). But we likely add a home and home with Arky, LSU, LSU, Ole Miss and Miss. State along with a once per year game with other SEC powers like UK and Tenn. I think it might be pretty cool overall.

Man, what a conference in football, baseball and golf. Wrestling at OU is probably done, but whatever.

West Division:

Oklahoma
Texas
LSU
Arkansas
Texas A&M
Mississippi
Mississippi State
Vanderbilt

East Division:

Florida
Florida State
Georgia
South Carolina
Auburn
Alabama
Tennessee
Kentucky

If we got our stuff together we could run the West.

Just to add, OU could schedule oSu non-conference every year on a 2-1 basis. Georgia still plays GT every year. Just looking at it, KSU, TT and oSu make more sense for the MWC, KU and ISU to the Big East (hoops conference) and Baylor to CUSA.

Grew up in SEC country, and for those around here that get disappointed in our crowds, we look like Allen Fieldhouse compared to all of the SEC West venues sans Arkansas and sometimes Miss. State. Its football first, and spring football and basketball are tied for second.

We would do better in basketball, take a notch down a little bit in football.

Keep in mind what these new conferences are all about, football. Personally, I'm excited about the future in both sports in the SEC. Texas Tech, ISU, Colorado, KState, Oklahoma State and Baylor, just not high end material. Colorado might be the exception, but overall are they any better than Utah? They belong in the MWC or Pac-10. Think CSU, CU, BYU and Utah head to Pac-10.

Ah, yet another hypothetical scenario that has no possibility of happening. Sweet dreams.

Naturally. I was just describing what the hoops landscape in the SEC West is like.

My bad...that was the question I asked. Pretty exciting overall if you ask me. Hoime and home with UK would be BAD ASS. And, espescially in hoops, nothing keeps us from scheduling KU for a home and home and oSu for a 2/3-1.

Why do you say that? Things are shaking up very quickly...NU and Mizzou will jump on B10 expansion faster than you can spit.

Let me state this for about the 10th time: OU will NOT be in a conference without OSU. It will not happen. End of story. But keep on dreaming.

Umm, they were for a lot longer than they've been in a conference together. But okay, oSu comes along and SEC adds Clemson for the east...happy now?

That's great, yes. I just think all of these OU fans that assume OSU is going to end up in the Sun Belt are hilarious.

I think they will end up in the MWC with KSU and TT...they don't add any value to the SEC (OU alone will bring the inclusion of local cable networks and the other conference members do not want to share revenue). That is just me though...Dave Bialis is a big oSu guy.

Did you know that out of the top 64 ranked revenue producing athletic departments in 08-09 osu ranked 24th? Arkansas was 33rd, perhaps they should kick them out? Actually Kentucky was just ahead of OSU at 23rd so perhaps they are on thin ice as well.

I think where ever OU goes the OSU goes. Just like A&M with Texas. I kinda think all 4 will go to the same conference or create a new one.

Those revenues came from a donation, not television viewers or merchandise sales. Seriously, these new conferences are going to be geared towards television sets, not rivalries. And if OU has REALLY sat back and done nothing, we are now officially in scramble mode. Fortunately, we bring OKC and Tulsa cable market single handedly, and are an attractive commodity to ESPN. It'll all shake out...FWIW, I'm somewhat ambivalent because OU is still a huge prize to the SEC or the Pac-10 or some type of alliance between the Pac-10 and the remaining members of the B12. As stated on another thread, I just don't want oSu limiting our options in the new college landscape, do you?

I don't know it 100% for certain, but I very seriously doubt those revenue figures included private donations.

They didn't. It is purely based on revenue generated by athletics.

What about the PAC 10 roping in OU, Texas, A&M and OSU (to go along with some midmajors or even Colorado to get up to 16)

Something like this
North
Standford
Cal
Washington
Oregon
Oregon State
Washington State
Boise State (colorado)
Utah (BYU)

South
USC
UCLA
Arizona
Arizona St
OU
Texas
Texas A&M
OSU
