Oklahoma has certainly been among the best football programs in the Big 12.
lol
Oklahoma has certainly been among the best football programs in the Big 12.
Speaking of which, have you ever been to southern missouri? It goes perfect with much of the SEC, particularly northeast florida and all of Louisiana.lol @ a mizzou clown talking down OU football.
Missouri is a perfect fit for the SEC inbreds. Missouri gets no respect because they haven't earned any. Ever. In any sport.

West Virginia is a better program than either Mizzou or aTm (Mizzou is a no-brainer here), and they have been since the early 80s. They have played for a NC, came close a couple of other times, and now have 3 BCS wins. Not even a contest here.
Over the past five years...
Mizzou: 48-19, 10 wins against top 25 teams, peak finish of #4 in AP poll
WVU: 48-17, 9 wins against top 25 teams, peak finish of #5 (also their peak all-time finish)
WVU was much better than Mizzou during the 80s and early 90s (when today's recruits weren't yet born). The primary difference between the programs today, though, is a lack of an OU/UT type program in their conference.
You guys are wrong on TCU. They were already recruiting better than Okie St, Missouri, etc before joining the Big XII. That will only improve.
They have the 25th ranked class this year so far.
West Virginia is head and shoulders above Missouri in all regards and always has been. They have been a consistent power over decades. They will only get stronger in the Big XII.
BTW the Big East is dramatically superior to the old Big XII North. West Virginia would have run through the North most years.
I'm not from Oklahoma, for one, but there is no comparison. Southern Missouri is the most backcountry place I've ever seen. Those people are stuck in 1870. Branson is a prime example. And Oklahoma... Let's be honest about your state.
Boca, no one is talking down OU football. I'm talking down BCS wins.
oklahoma has certainly been among the best football programs in the history of college football.
Not trying to ignore anything. Boca didn't mention it, so neither did I.
Oklahoma has certainly been among the best football programs in the Big 12.
If my team just lost by 38 I'd probably revert to this stuff again, too.
West Virginia was definitely impressive in their 26 point loss to Syracuse this year.
Overall record in the Big 12 era:
Oklahoma: 141-53
Texas: 153-51
Nebraska: 139-55
Each team has played for at least one national title in that span. Texas and Oklahoma both won one. Texas is the only team to play in two.
Sorry to offend by suggesting someone else might have an argument as the best footbsll program over the course of the Big 12's existance. Seems like some of you forgot about the Blake years. Those records still count.
To clarify, though: there is a difference between has been and is. Oklahoma right now is definitely the best overall program. UT's inability to find a quarterback has really hurt them post-McCoy. If they had a competent passer (or runner, a la Vince Young), they'd still be right up there with the best in the country.
They fielded a young team this season, of course they are going to struggle with consistency.
Some perspective: This team also put up over 500 yards against LSU's defense, which just completed one of the most impressive regular season showings for a defensive unit in college football in quite some time (not to mention, was one of only a couple teams that actually gave LSU a competitive game, only down 21-27 towards the end of the 3rd quarter).
Bottom line, WVU's unquestionably a more formidable opponent going into next year than both Missouri and A&M.
OU has played in 4 son.
