Used to be one of my favorite days. Not quite so sweet when you know your team isn't going anywhere. That is now 5 of the last 11 (I believe) seasons that have ended with OU missing out on the Dance.

Used to be one of my favorite days. Not quite so sweet when you know your team isn't going anywhere. That is now 5 of the last 11 (I believe) seasons that have ended with OU missing out on the Dance.

The difference here is we have something to be excited about next year with McGusty, Doolittle, Shepherd, and Odomes all returning and all of them will be much improved. Remember, Kelvin always said they improve more between freshman and sophomore years than any other time.

Also, we have Lattin and McNeace returning as well as DSM, James, Buford, and the newcomers. All will be better.

I have much more confidence in the future than I did after the 06 season when Kelvin left, or the 07 season when we knew we were adding Blake but weren't sure how good we would be with the other parts. I won't mention the other 3 which were just really poor seasons and not a whole lot to look forward to the next year. After Lon was hired most of us thought the program was in dire straits. In 2 years he had us back in the dance. This is nothing like in those days, IMO. :lon

2 of last year's Final Four teams did not make the tournament this year. Goes to show you nothing is automatic, and you should never take making the tourney for granted.

Heck, Cuse hasn't made it 2 of the past 3 years (and have missed it 4 times in the past 11 seasons)....and they have been a top 10 program for the past 25+ years!

UCONN, who has been one of the top 5 programs in the past 25+ years and who has been to 3 Final Fours in the past 9 years and has won TWO NC's during that same time has also NOT made the tournament 5 of the past 11 seasons!!!

I hate not making it as much as anyone, but at least their is a lot to look forward too over the next couple of years, with all this young talent returning, plus adding Young, Manek & Polla.

I will be disappointed if we don't make it next year. I don't have a strong expectation, as far as being a certain seed...but I fully expect us to continue to grow and improve...and turn the corner and close out some of these close games. We lost sooo many close games this year. If we would have just split those...we are right there in the conversation.

I just pray we can avoid any significant injuries next year to key players. We had A LOT of bad luck this year...hopefully behind us!

Except CJ I guess?... Lol I kid I kid. Sophomore slump if he gets to work right now he will be fine next year.
