Better team won today, and we have a lot of room to grow. Nash totally faked that "elbow".

Smart got to pad his stats a bit late when we were understandably backing off just a bit on D. I thought we handled him pretty well overall -- and in any case we certainly frustrated him. I'm sure he'll have the rematch at GIA circled on his calendar.

The thing I like about Smart is that every game is circled on his calendar. I'd love to have him at OU, but we did a great job on him today.

Totally disagree, Smart showed me and the nation NOTHING at all. He was about the 8th best player on the floor. He may turn out to be something but today he looked like a wide eyed freshman - BAD.

Maybe give OU credit?

This. OU's defense did something no other OSU opponent has been able to do this season: turn Marcus Smart into an average player. I'll be honest, I never dreamed we could hold him to 10 points on 3 of 10 shooting. He also had more turnovers than assists (4 TOs and 3 assists).

I've said all year that Marcus is a unique talent for a freshman, or any class for that matter. Maybe he had a bad game. But the defense our kids played on him had a lot to do with it.

They have a team full of floppers. If OU could sell a foul half as well as Smart or Nash, we would have shot plenty more free throws.

No doubt, give the guy credit. But give OUr guys some credit too. He doesn't "suck" at all, probably a lottery pick.

It was our effort and defense and foul trouble. He is the real deal.

So I wouldn't be so quick to use the Verbage. Tisdale Never got shut down like he did - Tis was a GREAT player. Maybe alot of you all are too young.

Tisdale never had a bad game, or was slowed due to foul trouble?

I find that hard to believe. Even MJ had bad games.

Do your research and then come back and tell me. Nope, he didn't have bad games, check it out. I am 52 and watched most of his home games and almost all of his others, he was unstopable. It amazes me how the "next generation" thinks that everything they are seeing is the best. HA. And the other thing, Tisdale was a 3 time All American on EVERY team and left after 3 years. And, unlike Smart, Tisdale was ALWAYS double teamed on every play and most of the time triple teamed. You really should get some video and watch what a true GREAT player is. Smart can't sniff Tisdales jock.

Smart is a really good basketball player. He would start for OU today. OU played well and smart struggled. I can't stand Nash. Forte would be a nice player to have as well.

He isn't comparing him literally to tisdale. Players are allowed "off" games. If smart stays he will be a dandy, but he probably leaves this year or next.

Care to explain the 6 points he put up against KU in Norman in '85?

Smart is a good player. However, he is a true freshman and is not so great that he won't have some off games. He might have 25 next time we play them. He will play at the next level.

OU played very good D and that is the bigger story.

After my last post, I decided to "do my research", as Vinny asked, and found a few games that were on par with, or worse, than what Smart did today.

You did? I see exactly two games in three years that Tisdale scored 10 points or fewer.

And OU won both of those games. So clearly the other team was forced to double- and triple-team Waymon, allowing OU's other players to go off. Unlike the aggies today.
