So Glad OU passed on Stevie Clark

On the other hand, it'd be hilarious to see the "spin" by Poke boosters and their media buddies if the talk of a car "inducement" starts to gets louder. We already know the drill on that with both groups: (A) "only the Gooners cheat, and (B) "we're skeptical of the charges," unless they come from an erstwhile OU recruit.

'Only OU cheats' is only one of many Bedlam myths that school ignorantly takes for granted.

The O'Colly has a copy of the court petition posted. It is a must read. I'm not an attorney but could have written a better complaint. I feel OSU should counter-sue for libel and defamation.

Here's a link to the petition:

I didn't read it and may not understand it if I did. Legal speak gives me a headache. Maybe one of our attorneys can give us a breakdown on the finer points of interest, if indeed the petition contains anything of substance.

I feel I should add one thing to this discussion that I simply cannot ignore. Stevie Clark was an immensely talented young man with a bright future. While in retrospect I'm glad he did not sign with OU, I won't deny that I wanted him in the worst way back then.

What a shame that a kid with his skills coming out of high school, and his ability to know down shots from an incredible distance, was not important enough to him to give up smoking dope and staying out of trouble Now, the only thing we can do is wonder how good he could have been if his head had been screwed on straight?

I'm right there with you. Honestly out of watching Woodard & Clark in high school, I wanted Clark. His speed and shooting set him apart. Hindsight I couldn't be happier we took the high character, leader who also has great ability.

Funny thing is the attorney was my RA at OU during my freshman year in the dorms. Used to play basketball at Huffman with him.

Former OU Graduate is suing OSU on behalf of an former OSU athlete. That is pretty funny or ironic.

Ill tell you for fact those drugs found in his room were Marcus smarts. I said that after it happened. Someone else can look back for it.

Now the rest of this is just crazy talk

Do you know Marcus? I can tell you many kids on our team look up to him. I understand you hate him. Sooners have a classy coach, lots of classy fans on this board with good info. Don't think you fit in, least I hope not.

Just because kids look up to someone does not make the kid infallable. In fact I would suspect that most OSU and OU bball players smoke weed occasionally.

Many kids share weed better than they share the darn basketball.

Dope smoking is chronic in college, and not just among basketball players.

Anyone that currently has either their own kids or friends kids in college know the simple truth. I know kids at UofArk, OU, OSU, TU, SMU, KU, ORU. Athletes or not, lots and lots of drinking and pot smoking going on

Assaulting a fan is worse than smoking some weed...

There was a reporter in Oklahoma that made that claim when the story first broke.

Ive met him. I stand my statement. I like Marcus as a player, of course he does things opposing teams hate. But if he was a Sooner and almost was... Then he wouldve been held in high reguard.

I fit in just fine. Welcome to the board. I speak the truth.

Can you explain him going into the stands after a fan?? Please.

Stevie had his hand out for any extras. Lon wasn't going to play this game so he quit recruiting him very early.

I'm certainly not an OSU fan, Im not an OU fan (may become one). I am a Kruger fan. Marcus made a mistake pushing the guy, Marcus flops. These kids make choices where to attend on where they think is best for them, for grown people to say "they know for a fact" a kid is on drugs is just not right in my opinion.

So if I know for fact... What's the problem? I love Kruger as well.

Who cares if he smokes? So do the majority of all D-1 players.

The issue isn't whether Smart smoked a little weed. It's whether Stevie was forced to take the rap for it? Different deal altogether.

Not claiming I know either way, and to be honest. I wouldn't believe a word either Stevie or Marcus said either way. Just my opinion.

Just an opinion, but his lawsuit is just as much about his whole family having their hands out.

Had never heard of Stevie until I attended state semi-finals his junior year. Thought he had tremendous talent but quickly found a dislike for his family and particularly his dad standing at the rail trash talking the entire game.

The whole family wearing their Stevie Clark t-shirts, gag.

Im sure they all thought he was one-and-done talent.

Funny how the petition bothers to mention that Stevie's roommate at OSU was 24 yeRs old and had lived out of his car before attending, OSU like that is some sort of crime.

If Bethea is an OU grad, I would be embarrassed for OU.
