Some good quotes by Osby, Blair, Fitz on the coaching change

I think Blair is going to have some people eating their words by the time his career is done. I sure hope so.

No offense to whomever said this, but in all honesty how was Capel over-coaching? Cam could of shot it every time down the floor and no one would of cared. Hell, it was encouraged.

Being "over-coached" does not hinder someone from making an effort to rebound the ball. For Clark's physical attributes, his rebounding prowless this year was sad.

Chico claimed the fact Blair would look at Capel and Capel would have the team slow it down into the halfcourt offense as his main proof that Capel was over coaching.

I've read it was Cline who actually recruited Cam, so this combined with the thought Capel over coached by that camp would maybe mean Cam isn't as loyal to Capel as some may think. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if he stays or goes at this point. I don't think anybody has a bead on what he's thinking.

Pretty safe to say that last year's squad is not well equipped to run an uptempo game. Doesn't take a basketball expert to figure that one out.

I agree.

This is why I believe Cam wasn't loyal to Capel meaning it's not a given he leaves just because Capel is gone.

Blair has earned a shot at proving he can be OU's point guard for the next couple of years. I realize the kid had a few bad games, and, yes, I've also seen him dribble the ball off his foot. But I also saw him dish out 11 assists against TT in the Big XII tournament, while also scoring around 15 points and pulling down 5 or 6 rebounds.

He's undoubtedly the best passing PG the Sooners have had in a decade. If he can work on his handles and improve his shooting even a little, I believe he's destined to make some of our resident experts eat their words.

Take it for what it is worth, but I was told that Cam's dad was encouraging him to transfer, if Capel wasn't fired. He thought that Capel was misusing him. I don't know if Cam felt the same way, but it leads me to believe that he will give a new coach a chance.

I like Carl but no, as much as people hate on TMG, he was an amazing passer and better than Carl.

I guess you've got me there. I'm too old and tired to post youtube videos, so I can't counter that argument. Maybe it's just the fact that TMG wasn't here long enough for me to consider him a great passing PG.

Well, Blair certainly can be called a pass-first PG while TMG was shoot-first.

I think TMG has some of a scorer's mentality but I also think it was a product of the team he was on. Tiny was usually in foul trouble in conference play and unassertive for most of the year. Willie was hurt or whatever. That meant the next two best scorer options were Tony and Cade. Streaky shooters from deep, not bad off the dribble. Neither are bad options but with a lack of an inside outside game TMG had to take things in his own matters many of a time on offense.

If TMG was a year older and was at OU in 2008-09 I really believe he could've settled into a role as a more distributor type. Personally I think he would've worked well with a healthy WW and of course Blake.

One of the few things Capel did the last two seasons that I agreed with. Last year's OU team was going to be MUCH better slowing it down and limiting possessions.
