Looks as if Willie Warren has been improving his draft status. He is projected in the first round by most Mock drafts. Tony Crocker just had an excellent tourney at portsmouth where he averaged 12pts a game. Tiny Gallon is projected as the 48th pick in the draft by NBAdraft.net. Also, the super athletic Cole Adrich is being projected as high as 6th in the draft and no lower than ninth by most so called draft experts. Xavier Henry, Daniel Orton, and Ekpe Udoh are all being projected as lottery picks. That is a huge statement about the state of Oklahoma and AF, to have 4 and five nba drafted players in two years. Also, James Anderson is being projected anywhere from the end of the lottery, but no lower than 20th. Sherron Collins is being projected late in the second to not drafted on most mock drafts and TMG has not made a mock draft listing.

That reminds me of the hilariously epic thread we had awhile back. Where you said the sloth like Aldrich was the 2nd coming of Ostertag but without the defense. :) That was my favorite part....that you said the two time Big 12 DPOY struggled defensively. Aldrich will go lottery because of his defense and rebounding. I'm sure you've tried to put that thread out of your mind. :facepalm

I'm not an NBA scout so I would have to defer to what an NBA scout's opinion is of a player. However, NBA scouts can be wrong. Cole Aldrich hasn't scored a point in the NBA and we've just witnessed two seven ft, guys drafted 1 and 2 over the last three years and both of those guys are busts in my opinion. So ultimately, it's on Cole Aldrich. Will he perform better than the guys who were regarded as better prospects than him in Oden and Thabeet or will he be a 2 or 3 time All Star, something that a guy drafted sixth in the draft should be, to be considered a non bust. What do you think?

As for Warren, I personally would like to see him with the Lakers. I think he would be a nice fit there, especially with an aging Fisher, and an offense where the pg doesn't have the typical responsiblilities that pgs have. As for Gallon, I hope he succeeds. He lacks work ethic and I hope something clicks on. I think Henry will have a great NBA career. I am rooting for Orton to have one as well. Orton's stock continues to rise and it's funny that a person who just bashed me for speaking negatively on Aldrich in the past basically is taking the same stance against Orton and Udoh as NBA prospects. Oh well. Oklahoma has alot to be proud of when it comes to basketball in the recent past. Orton, Udoh, Henry, the Griffins, Darnell Jackson, Giddens, etc, are a list of very good players this state has produced.

?
If Orton is still on the board in the 2nd round, will the Thunder take a look at him? Or are the Thunder interested in drafting any of these players? Just curious......

I would be very surprised if the Thunder pass on Orton with their first pick, and they would surely take him with that second first round pick.

I never said anything about Aldrich's future success in the pro's. Have we discussed that in the past? I'm just shocked such a sloth and below average defender of a college player could even be considered to be a lotto pick. I personally don't think Aldrich, Orton or Udoh will ever play in an NBA All-Star game. Whenever you bring up Aldrich it just makes me think of that thread.
Hopefully, the double hex you put on Blake in that thread has passed as well.

This. If Orton is available when OKC picks they will probably take him. They need a big bad and Orton has a lot of upside.

Orton is lazy... I would hate to have him on the Thunder Roster... He floats to the 3pt line. (Bigs want to be gaurds and gaurds want to be bigs)

Unless he has changed he is way overrated.

I'd like to see the Thunder get Luke Babbitt, James Anderson, X Henry or Bledsoe personally. I don't think there is a good enough Big that will be left that late. I think they need to strengthen the 2/3 opposite Durant.

Chad Ford Twitter Update:

Tiny Gallon in (large) nutshell. He shot the lights out from NBA 3. Surprisingly light on his feet. Still not in terrific shape yet ...

Not the most shocking update - but still positive.

hoping the thunder trade some of their picks to move up and get udoh

I expected that to be the report. I figured he would be in better shape by now, however.

He probably is in better shape...the guy had a long way to go and appears to have worked his tail off the last 2 years or so. Wish he would have stayed another year at OU.

I understand he's in better shape--and he deserves a lot of credit for the hard work putting into that--what I'm saying is that I expected him to be in better shape on Ford/other scouts' standards. Considering he's had the season and 10 weeks afterward to get accustomed to it. I'm sure in due time he'll get into top shape.

Cole Aldrich = Eric CHENOwith

They could stand across from each other and wouldn't even need a mirror to shave.
