Reaves draft thread

Well I don't know about 25-30 minutes. They still have Rondo and Reaves's minutes will be very dependent on how he plays.

Returning makes no sense for him... he's a 5th year senior, he did what he had to do to continue playing basketball if he wants. It won't be in the NBA, but he can continue playing.

Here we go again with the annual thread of posters predicting that one of our players will be in the NBA. Show of hands, how many of you predicted that Doolittle would make an NBA roster?

Reaves is a good college player but he won't make an NBA team. He doesn't handle the ball well enough, shoot it well enough, or make good enough decisions.

I don't like that I'm agreeing with you so much lately, but you nailed this.

Happens every year.

Sure that was a bad take too, but it takes nothing away from my point.

Which has zero to do with OU getting a guy drafted or sitting on the bench in the NBA.

Two completely different concepts. But sure.....I'm glad all of these 3* guards enjoy Lon's system.

Just here to bump.

Just here to bump.

You literally "bumped" a post where I said he'd be sitting on the bench. He just signed as like the 14th roster spot. That's the bench.

We won't know who is/was truly right about this for 3-5 years.

Also, this "just signed as like the 14th roster spot" and "sitting on the bench" BS is a ludicrous way to make a point about him somehow being a worse player than we all thought.

The Lakers feel like Austin Reaves is one of the 500 best professional basketball players in the country. Considering they have two of the top 10 players in the world on their roster, I'll take their assessment as validation that many/most of us were right about how good Reaves really is.

"Just" the bench is a million bucks a year salary and tons of marketing opportunities.

Right now, OU has 4 players in the NBA -- two on potential world championship teams and one more on a competitive eastern conference team. I'll take all those mentions of "University of Oklahoma" on NBA broadcasts any day, whether it's from the bench or not.

FYI Reaves will make 925K this season

his year 2 pay if picked up will be 1,752,638

Amazing for AR! Guy is a stud!

The doubters take another L!

Any idea the last time OU had 4 players active in the NBA?

I'm guessing when King, Grant, and Blaylock were drafted. Anthony Bowie and Brent Price were in the NBA with those guys as well.

Edited to add, forgot Wayman who was also in the league back then!

An athlete would have dunked that 😆. Great seeing him have a great rookie year!

Wild. Good on him. I hope he gets traded to a team that's not a complete dumpster fire like the Lakers in the Offseason.
