T Young

Exhibit A of someone not wanting to see Trae succeed. I agree it's pathetic, but reading this board throughout last season made it obvious that certain people clearly don't like him and can't wait to take shots at him.

Sorry, I don't think the man plays a brand of winning basketball. He is Happy Gilmore of the NBA. Will do amazing things that make you say wow then proceed to make bone head mistakes that cost you the game. His game winning shot was an example of that type of behavior, IMO. I thought the Scott Brooks plays of just let Durant dribble and shoot were bad but they weren't from 40 feet out.

Not sure where you get the idea that I don't want him to succeed, I don't really care one way or another. What I do think is that over the long haul, TY style of play won't lead to his team being successful long term and that's because of what I saw of him as a Sooner. Last season wasn't all his fault but it wasn't not his fault either.

I would agree with this if Trae didn’t make the shot — but he made the shot! And if you watched him last year, he made that shot time and time again.

Rough day at work?
Dog die?
Wife leave you?

He was hot first 3rd of the season. He didn't hit it much after that.

I just hope that any discussion of Trae Young's NBA career, along with Buddy Hield's and Blake Griffin's, goes on unabated in the NBA Forum.

I see where your points come from. He does do that a lot ... my hope is that as a pro he's able to achieve some consistency.

lol..whatever man..this forum gets little traffic to begin with. I thought he had a pretty good game and considering there isn't much going on now with OU's bball team I thought I'd throw it out there...good grief.

I'm a SOONER fan..and any kid that played for OU.

To each his own. I wish them well in the NBA, I just don't follow. And I know plenty of Sooner fans who've spent the better part of the last decade bashing the hell out of Blake Griffin for various Thunder-related reasons, so you might not be in the super majority with that opinion.

At the very least, maybe the Mods will confine it all to one thread.

This solution seems the ideal one to me. I'm not enough of an NBA fan to click over to a different board, but I'd enjoy keeping up with our guys here via a Sooners in the NBA thread.

As for Thunder fans ragging on Griffin, that's a key reason why I don't cheer for the Thunder. I tried to, but their fans were just too clueless and childish -- and in saying that, I'm including a number of old friends and family members.

The majority of the Blake bashers aren't legitimate OU basketball fans. Most of the hate comes from those that never followed basketball until OKC got a team.

Trae is still one of ours. It's not as if we have so many NBA players that you'll never be able to find the other threads you're looking for. As with other threads, if you're not interested, don't open it. Don't ruin the fun for others.

I will agree that Trae should have his own official thread.

I didn't even know that Blake was still in the NBA

Any chance you will go back to hibernating rather than posting obvious lies like this just to get attention now that the season is starting?

Trae is a volume shooter with questionable defensive skills. I think we will likely see that continue in the NBA. He will knock down some 40 footers (he made one the other night) and people will be like, "wooooow that was really far away" ...

Wish him the best... I don't care for his style of play, and I don't think it was good for OU, but there have been lots of successful volume shooters in the NBA. He will likely be one of them.

Nope, funny how you think what I say is a lie just because I don't watch the NBA like you do.

Mods,

Can we get an OU - NBA players thread sticky at top of this forum or the NBA one? I really could care less about the NBA except to see how former OU guys are doing....much easier.

Gracias

yes done

Trae literally bought OU basketball a million dollars worth of publicity last season including all the head scratching on as the he and the team were laying an egg down the stretch.
Without Trae nobody on national sports would have said 2 words about OU mens' basketball except in passing that the got drilled by this or that team.
Trae alone for better or worse put OU basketball back on the map.
Thanks for the one year Trae, better than none.
