  1. Zero point guards
  2. Minimal rebounding
  3. McGusty transferred leaving scoring up to Christian James
  4. Some guys who, hate to say it, aren't OU level players

Kruger is basically out there on the road offering starting spots at the 11th hour, which is a strange position for OU to be in. There are rumors of more transfers too.

We've posted in other threads all the best juco talent out there that fill needs at OU.... Devonte Bandoo, Ricky Torres, Austin Trice, Antun Maricevic... I know Trice is visiting, but getting ALL the best guys this late in the game is a tall order. Plus, all the above mentioned guys have good offer lists already.

This is why OU needs to have guys like Bandoo, Trice, etc already locked up in the early period. But they don't prioritize these types of players so now we are coming in at the end trying to land them.

I dont mean any disrespect, but I dont agree with you at all.

Jamuni is a nice college basektball player. Very athletic
Brady Manek was a very good freshman, could develop into an NBA guy
James and McGusty are decent college basketball players, neither great but I wouldnt call them bad. Role players might be appropriate, but they had their hands tied with the TY thing.
Hanes Polla is a big body, rebounding might be what he's good at. We'll know a lot more next year. He might be a good player

Do we need better talent? Yes. But dont take shots at these guys for the TY/OU fiasco last season. Not their fault LK put the team on the back of 1 player

Sad but true. Shows the overall weakness of the program at this stage.

Addition by subtraction

OU WILL BE FINE

I agree. The guy was a literal black hole on the court. We need more unselfish players to get rid of the me me me vibe that this team exhibited this year which destroyed our season.

and you know what ... whomever coach picks to be our team I am gonna root for them and hope they get better as the year progresses.

Here's where we stand now:

Seniors:
Christian James, G, 6'4"
Ty Lazenby, G, 6'5"
Jamuni McNeace, C, 6'10"
Rashard Odomes, G, 6'6"

Juniors:
Kristian Doolittle, F, 6'7"
Matt Freeman, F, 6'10"
Kur Kuath, F, 6'9"

Sophomores:
Brady Manek, F, 6'9"
Hannes Polla, C, 6'11"

Freshmen:
Jamal Bieniemy, G, 6'3"

Picking up a transfer PG is an absolute must right now. Otherwise who brings the ball up the court?

now would be a great time for an overall program shift ,this includes coaching staff.

We need 3 grad transfers and a monster recruiting class for 2019 now, unless there are some good quality jucos left available right now. This team has a lot of deficiencies right now. Offering warm bodies will only make things worse, so no "projects", no more high schoolers and no transfers that have to sit a year unless they are really, really high level. No Nick Thompson's.

So do we know why all of this is happening? Is this due to Young supposedly being treated different? I have a good source usually with the basketball stuff and I know there was some problems after the game and Stillwater that I didn't say happened at that time. But he hasn't really told me the reason for all these transfers yet. And I was wondering if anyone else with a closed-source new the inside stuff in this situation

This has nothing to do with TY

He wasn’t the problem.

Guess leaving were the problem.

2019 will be a great class

The problem(s) is/are sitting on the bench next to Lon collecting checks and not doing ****.

All the jealous players leaving? is that what's happening? Brady Manek has a chance to take over this team next year. Opportunity will be there for him

McGusty lacked maturity, sure. But his leaving has a lot to do with Lon.

We're staring down the barrel of another 11-win season - the second in two years. Unacceptable. I don't care how nice of a guy Lon is, this is crazy.

I'm glad that 2019 will be a great class, so does that mean that OU is looking down the barrel of mediocrity until 2020 or 2021?

Careful Cool, you might make this board sound like the old days, where we seemed to care about the players and wanted OU to succeed. Oh well. Maybe that is why we had the "secret board" many years ago.

I don't mind criticism, but most of what I see on here now gets out-of-hand quickly.

LOL

So we're going to stink next year, and probably have severe growing pains the following year. That is not what we're paying LK to do.

I'm sorry, but that is just terrible. That is a bad looking roster.
