Not talking about Jersey Shore LOL. Seriously, I saw a few of you jumping NickZepp's shtuff on some thread he posted on regarding talent. Well, I'm not a Sampson or Tubbs or Capel apologist. Here's what I do know, whether or not this team is as talented or not as past teams, doesn't matter. Fact is recruiting is part of being a coach. With recruiting comes talent and character evaluation. There has been next to none with this staff. I love reading this board, and usually don't post, but this is beyond ridiculous. If you think that first team with Dion Barnes, Abercrombie, etc was more talented on paper than this team, that is laughable. Yes, they may have APPEARED more talented because Sampson coached them up. I can remember thinking how UGLY we played with Sampson teams, but a by product of ALOT of that ugliness was alot of wins(cohesive defense + effort). I know people complain about winning ugly, but how you like losing to Cham-i-freaki-nade? GEEZ. Somebody please correct me if Im wrong:

Do you think Sampson had ANY top 100 natl recruits on that first team? Heyell nah. Whoever said we need a hard-nose/ass coach is right. Defense is effort but not only can they not do that we look like we have no offensive sets/screening etc or any kind of cohesion. Truly, as someone said, John Blake basketball. For all you people who say no one cares about BBall, that its only football here, maybe for you but there are alot of people who love and take pride in OU BBall and this is laughable. This program has too much pride to put up with this. Are you serious he really gets 1.5 mil? What has he done? Blake and Taylor coached the one good team he had. Why does he supposedly get a pass for OU being so bad this year because of last year, when last year was a direct result of who HE recruited? Other programs appear to be able to get talented athletes and mesh them together. Where are all these great recruits that Capel said would come to OU because Blake Griffin made it cool again? Sorry about the rambling, but in year 5 at a program with the stature and resources of the University of Oklahoma this is beyond unacceptable. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas everyone!
