I am being blackout on Directv 623 and Fox sports Oklahoma , what gives?

We have made some dumb fouls and our defense has been poor.

Good basket finally by Jo. Make that 14 turnovers in the first half. Unbelievable!

12 turnovers and we haven't made it to halftime yet.

Toss in those and the fact Vandy is shooting threes out of their heads and that's a bad combo. Hard to keep up when you're giving up possessions. I believe at one time they were outshooting us 30-19.

Would like to have Clark, Fogey, and that blond #4 that they have.

OK this one is out of the way. Got to improve a lot or it will be a long year.

I agree. I was suprised because I thought the team would rally around the fact that Whitney can no longer play and they would all be determined to play with the energy and focus to beat Vandy. We gave up waaaaay too many open shots and they made us pay.

All the rallying around we can do doesn't change the abilities and experience level of some players. Some things are going to have to happen that are going to take a little time.

I thought Morgan and Aaryn both had some bad turnovers that resulted from trying to do too much. Bad turnovers in the sense that they led directly to fast break baskets on the other end. I thought several (it seemed like a lot) of their 3's were made even though they were well defended, while we were missing 3's that were wide open. I don't think there was a lack of energy or focus on our part; we just have to have some greater proficiency from the back end of the bench. Portia contributed nothing. Jasmine has to look for some offense. Kornet looked good in most phases of the game, but she has to be a little quicker recovering after she's rubbed off on a screen. I'm not sure what's right and wrong with Sharane's game. If I was the coach, I'd be giving her a lot of playing time and living with the results. I think she and NK have the greatest potential for growth during the year.

If I was going to grade on focus and energy, I'd give Joanna an A+. She gave us everything she had today.

We don't have good enough players to rally except for hook and ellenburg

Also, wasn't this finals week? They usually don't get to practice much as a team during finals week.

It's going to be tough, tough, tough for the rest of this year and probably for a couple of years to come.

Morgan has got to hit those open shots, the entire team does.

We just don't have the bodies we need and when the talent we do have doesn't show up consistently, this is what is going to happen.

I thought Jo had her best game since getting knocked out last season.

I'm afraid we'd better get used to this. It isn't changing any time soon in my opinion.

Very disappointed in Portia's play so far this season. She's beginning to look like another one of Sherri's "I couldn't get a top recruit, so I'll take whatever I can get" players.

I thought Jo played poorly the first part of the game. She drew 2 early really dumb fouls. She played much better the second half.

I would say it was a complete lack of focus when they were shooting open shots left and right.

My recollection is clearly that we have not played well after finals week. I recall Sherri talking about this more than once over the years. This loss may get our attention and get us back on track. Most of all I hope our defense improves. We can win with good defense even when we are not shooting well.

Actually Morgan had only 2 turnovers for the game. One was a charge and the other was a pass to Griffin that she didn't catch and should have and bounced out of bounds. Sharane was turning it over which was leading to the fast breaks. She needs to start playing within her self and quit trying to force the officials to bale her out to get to the free throw line. Right now she is one dimensional. That will come though.

Here is the solution to all the problems, start recruiting some player who can actually play basketball instead of projects whom you hope will develop down the road in a couple of years. I know they are out there, because I see them on other teams, including the team we played today. Is it possible that the coach from Vandy is a better judge of talent? Did she coach those players better? Are her players smarter than our players? I have no answers. Vandy was running the motion offense, I thought coach Cole was a whizz on this offense? If so why isn't she running said offense? Does she have players who can play in such an offense? I'm just trying to understand how OU has gone from a team that competes for Big 12 titles and post season runs at the championships gets to this point? Please explain, I'm just puzzled.

There is no doubt that the answer to our problem is recruiting. If we have a bad year, recruiting becomes even more difficult as the top players generally want to sign with teams they think have a chance of winning national championships. That's a tough sell when you have a bad record.

I didn't feel like we played that poorly. I just felt like Vanderbilt had a terrific game. It was a long time coming for them, as they knew they needed to take out a top 25 team on its home court in order to get back into the Top 25. We just don't have the manpower at this point. I wasn't displeased with anyone's performance except for Portia. Jo was fantastic! Aaryn was a bit inconsistent, but with 21 points, I'll take it.

I was very disappointed in our defense. I would like to see Sherri start out in a half-court trapping defense and only stop when performance (or lack thereof) dictates.
