Transfers Possible

Any new news on the transfer front? I saw yesterday that it looks like Tray Jackson is projected to Mississippi State.

Saw where WSU’s Jamarius Burton committed to Texas Tech.

Any rumors on where JB might end up? Purely speculation, but I'd think maybe somewhere back in Texas. Can't think of many options that make sense down there though.

The only thing I've seen on JB is this:

OU is the PERFECT situation for this kid. He can sit out a year, the Kuath will graduate and he has opportunity to step right in and start.

Also, don't forget that Dana Altman and Lon are REAL close friends...I would bet Altman would talk up Lon to this kid. This would be a great get! 6'9 PF/C who was a 4 star, Top 50 type of player in HS!

Which of the 2 would you prefer?

Williams, for me.

That't a really tough question. Okoro would be a better post option than we've had for some time, and has played against better competition. However Williams is more of a modern player, 6'9 with guard skills don't come along everyday. His highlights really do resemble a taller, but less strong Doolittle.

There are unknowns that only the staff may have the insight on
Is Williams > Garang? (I beleive so)
Is Okoro > Issanza/Iwuakor?
Will Issanza & Iwuakor be servicable so other positions can be more the focus?
Do you want a logjam at the SF with Williams, Hill, Garang
Will the NCAA grant immediate eligibility. This would make or the decision for me. If they don't Williams has to sit with one to play.

I think I roll the dice with Big Rick and Vic and take Williams. Replace Doolittle with Doolitte type. You have 2 incoming guards that strengthen bench scoring and depth. Williams could serve as Maneks replacement and see time as both a stretch 4 and SF.

A 2021 lineup of
Harmon/Gibson
Gibson/Harkless
Hill
DeAndre Williams
Issanza

Hmm..looks like Williams is the more dynamic player with a more refined offensive game. I think Williams wants to play immediately and if he had a good year...may be gone after that.

With Okoro, you're getting a more physical presence who is probably the better rebounder/defender..and wants to sit out a year and will then give you 2 solid years.

Williams would be a perfect replacement for Doolittle...and would make next season VERY interesting (assuming the immediate elgibility rule passes).

I'd love both..but if I could only get one...I lean to Williams I guess. Would be very happy with either!

You always take the much better offensive player, and teach/convince him to play D.

We have no problems recruiting 4's and 5's that can't score but defend and rebound adequately. Get the kid that can put the rock in the hole.
