Tulsa might be really good.

Wait?

OU gets to claim OKC as home game but WSU doesn’t get Wichita as home game?

You’re better than this..... moving goal posts

He’s a troll as evidenced by the fact he’s been to more Tulsa games than OU this year.

I live in Tulsa and have young children who aren't old enough for that journey to Norman yet. Geez you are insane man.

Per Lunardi, the following teams on OU’s (currently an 11 seed) schedule (wins by OU are currently NCAA tourney teams:

#12- North Texas
#15- William & Mary
#12- Minnesota

It's hard to believe that an 11-10 minnesota team is STILL slated to get an at-large bid.

It matters who you lose to. Five of OU’s seven losses were to top 50 teams, only one of them at home.

Completely agree. Still doesn't mean OU has beaten anyone other than Mississippi State.

Why is that such a bad thing to say? It's not untrue. OU isn't having a terrible season. They aren't having a good season. They are having a pretty average season so far. There is still lots of basketball left and it could turn into a great season, or it could turn into a bad season. OU is right on the line, but anything is possible still at this point.

ABD cites a random loss that William & Mary, currently 159 in the NET rankings, suffered. OU, of course, defeated William & Mary, while Tulsa LOST to Arkansas State, which is currently ranked 43 spots below W&M.

Tulsa has gotten a lot better over the course of the year, but again, I don't even know why this is such a thing. OU and Tulsa don't play each other, they don't play in the same league, they don't have the same expectations. You guys are getting personally offended that someone thinks some teams in the American could beat OU... Which is funny because one of the better teams in the American did beat OU, and the worst team in the American nearly beat OU. That is all we are talking about here. There is no reason to get offended, start huffing and puffing, start attacking, etc.

I even went back to the original post and reviewed to make sure nothing out of line was said, and I honestly can't find anything.

Thebigabd is NOT a troll. I disagree with him as often as I agree with him. Some things he says are spot on, and some are head scratchers. Regardless, I've never encountered a better thread starter. He certainly thinks of some great topics which results in a lot of debate. Say what you want about him, but he is definitely not a troll.

Coach talk and Skyvue, TU played hard against Cincy but couldn't make a shot. Unlike OU against K-State, which I believe TU beat, when Manek walked around all night and took a BIG five shots and basically gave up. TU is doing something OU hasn't done and that is get better as the year has gone. Some of the players that played in a couple of blowouts aren't playing now. Novel idea.

Tulsa lost to KSU by 2 at KSU and we know how we fared in the same environment.

I agree; thebigabd is not a troll. On occasion, he does seem to have problems coming to logical conclusions. Other times, he seems to magically come to his senses.

Can you not be bothered to check your facts before you post? Tulsa lost to KSU.

Hey guys.... I'm right here. I can hear you.

Who's offended? Who's attacking? Toughen up, big fella. I'm just stating facts.

I've been called a troll... Not an OU fan... A guy who likes TU more than OU... Illogical... And "better than this" in a single thread!

:)

When thebigabd stands by the doorway to a "religious house of worship" and attempts to turn away patrons because he believes they are not religious enough then it is time to pile on, but for now the doorway is already crowded as is.

Tulsa is receiving votes in both top 25 polls, FYI... They absolutely cannot lose the next 4, which is a big stretch of games to demand wins. But UCONN, UCF, ECU, and USF are no good. They can't lose them. A loss to any of them likely ends hopes for at-large bid unless they pull off some big wins.

If they make it through this 4 game stretch untouched, they will be 19-6 and likely ranked in the top 25.

Big 12 (Ranked or Receiving Votes)
Baylor, Kansas, West Virginia, Texas Tech

American (Ranked or Receiving Votes)
Wichita State, Memphis, Tulsa, SMU, Houston

Of course, the Big 12's are ranked in the top 10. But still interesting.

The American is better this year than normal, but OSU would be a top half team in that conference.

TU lost to KSU by 2. We lost by 8.

TU beat WSU by 3. We lost by 5.

It's honestly absurd to act like a mid-major team like Tulsa couldn't beat us on a neutral court, especially considering that we lost back to back games against WSU and Creighton. Sure, Tulsa has had some bad games, but can we really pretend we didn't get punked by ISU? A team that lost to a 2-9 Florida A&M?

Tulsa is actually pretty loaded with transfers for next year... They have transfers from Wichita State, Georgia Tech, Western Michigan, and Arkansas all sitting out this year waiting to be eligible for next season.

They have transfers from LSU and Nebraska playing this year. That is pretty crazy... Next year they will have transfers from LSU, Nebraska, Wichita State, Georgia Tech, Western Michigan, and Arkansas on the floor... Probably the most transfers I have ever seen on one team

They return most of the pieces from this years team as well. Haith is putting together a pretty legit team for next year.

Keyshawn Embry-Simpson (Arkansas transfer)
A consensus four-star recruit, he played three seasons at Midwest City High School before finishing his prep career at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Was rated the No. 22 point guard in the country and the No. 13 overall prospect in Florida by 247sports.com ... as a junior at Midwest City he averaged 26.8 points and 5.6 rebounds per game and earned a spot on The Oklahoman’s Super 5 Team

Reggie Jones (Western Michigan transfer)
In two seasons at Western Michigan, he totaled 613 points (9.6 ppg), 235 rebounds (3.7 rpg) and 140 assists (2.2 apg) over 64 games … in 2017-18 he was the team’s third-leading scorer at 10.1 ppg and he was one of five players to play in all 32 contests … as a freshman in 2016-17, he appeared in all 32 games with 14 starts and averaged 9.4 points and 3.5 rebounds per outing to earn a spot on the Mid-American Conference All-Freshman Team

Curtis Haywood (Georgia Tech transfer)
Played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Georgia Tech ... appeared in 44 games with 23 starts and totaled 243 points, 121 rebounds, 94 assists and 47 steals ... made 19 starts and ranked third on the team with 59 assists and 39 steals as a sophomore in 2018-19 ... scored a career-high 18 points in a win over ECU behind a 3-for-5 effort behind the arc ... finished the season ranked second on the squad in 3-point percentage

Rodgerick Brown (Wichita State transfer)
Played his freshman season at Wichita State, then transferred to Pearl River CC. Averaging 12 and 7 at Pearl River this year.

ISU or Ark state...?

No one is saying we couldnt lose to Tulsa. We beat them 9/10 a week.

They wouldnt be 4th in the Big 12. They have several cupcakes they play... Which if you dont have to see, KU, WVU TT, Baylor 2x a year. its not as hard.

Goes back to Boise St argument in football. If they played the big 12 schedule they wouldnt be what they were.

Same can be said here.

They have 1 ranked team in the AP top 25. Houston... who got beat by.... OSU
