I know there are some other TU fans on the board...

They picked up a really nice win on Saturday, knocking off Temple on the road.

They're now 3-0 in the AAC and are up to #38 in the RPI. They have UConn at home on Tuesday night in a huge game for them.

If they can have a pretty decent year in the AAC (which they should - KenPom currently has them simulated at 12-6), then they should have no problem making the NCAA tournament again.

It's good to see them doing well again...

Might end up being both OU and OSU's best non-conf wins. We had some really good opportunities to pick up some signature wins early, and missed the boat. Tulsa has come on of late, I'm glad we were able to get that road win.

Tulsa update!

They crushed Memphis last night and are now cruising at 6-0 in the AAC.

Tulsa might be considered the favorite to win the AAC at this point. It will almost certainly come down to them and SMU.

this is turning out to be our best non-conference win. Maybe Butler and UCLA slightly ahead of them.

I think that TU is by far our best non con win. They will make the touney, and we beat them by 20+ on the road. Great win for us.

Nice to see Haith doing well at Tulsa.

But on no planet is Tulsa a better win than Butler. Butler is #17 with 3 wins over top 25 teams and 5 wins over top 50 teams. Tulsa is #47 with zero wins over top 50 teams and lost to SE Oklahoma St. & Oral Roberts.

I understand the Aggies trying to prop up Tulsa since it's your second best win. lol

Butler has wins over North Carolina, Seton Hall and St Johns and plays in a tougher conference so my guess is that they are our best win out of conference. Butler RPI 14 and TU RPI 46.

I'll admit that I'm shocked that it turned out Danny Manning can coach.

For a team which is poor at outside shooting and has to pray to shoot better than 60% from the free throw line they make the best of it.

Their coach is Frank Haith (via Mizzou and Miami), not Danny Manning. Manning left after last year.

I like seeing a resurgent Tulsa team. Good for the state.

It's not entirely out of the question that all 4 D1 teams from the state will make the NCAA tournament (let the knives fly).

It's not out of the realm of possibility. OU is in the tournament easily.

Tulsa has a very favorable schedule to win the American Conference outright...they still have to go to UCONN and SMU (toughest games), but they only play Cincy once...and it's at home. I think if they only have 2-3 losses in conference, then they will win the regular season.

I don't know much about ORU or their conference other than they are near the top of the standings. Unfortunately, the conf. tournament is not being played in Tulsa (it's in Sioux Falls)....so who knows?

osu will have plenty of opportunities to get some quality wins in this conference. If they can knock off an ISU, KU, or OU at home....that would be a big scalp for them. If they finish 9-9 or better, they are definitely in the tournament. There is a possibility, with the strength of the Big 12, that they could make it in at 8-10.....granted if they were to win a game or two in the Big 12 tournament.

The tournament bubble, similar to last year, is VERY weak....meaning there will be several teams who make the field this year who would not have made the field 2 or 3 years ago.

One could almost say Frank Haith is becoming the Sherri Coale of men's basketball. :D

Interesting career path for Frank Haith....

Miami, Missouri, Tulsa. In that order.

I tend to think that OSU is probably going to make it in. We're currently #27 in the RPI, which is a pretty strong position considering the strength of the Big 12.

As long as we don't tank and finish 7-11, I think we're in.
