Do they just about clinch the American Conference tonight with a win? That would put them 3 games up on SMU and Temple, the two teams directly behind them.
 
Too many second and third chance scoring opportunities for SMU. Besides having better rebounders and shooters, the teams were fairly even.

The bigs for SMU are just a bad matchup for Tulsa.

Another thing which hurt TU was their point guard derives all his points from driving to the bucket. This aspect of his game was all but taken away from him for most of the game. He did take an outside shot in the final minute but he refuses to shoot from the outside whether he's open or not. Given this, TU was at a large disadvantage and it was too much of an uphill battle to overcome the other deficiencies.
 
Win today and I "think" they have a solid shot at making the Dance. Gotta win today though. UCONN, in what is essentially a road game for TU, won't be easy. Matter of fact, they got blown out there by 25 points about a month ago.

They played an uninspired game but most of that was due to an illness which affected some players performance in addition to preventing some players from participating.
 
If Tulsa makes the NCAA Tournament without winning their conference tournament you have to put Haith as one of the better coaching jobs in the country this season. They got better and better as the season went on.

All that being said... if they beat UCONN today they should get in.

They were an NCAA tournament team last year and returned all relevant players.

They're about as good as a year ago. RPI is a little better. Kenpom is the same.

What Haith has done at Tulsa this year is not special. It's maintaining the status quo.
 
Go Hurricane. Find a way to win because you know UConn is making the run at you.
 
This game sums up today's college basketball, 41-35 with 3 mins left.....uconn's women team could probably score more than 35
 
Tulsa's offense is absolutely pathetic. UCONN has 43 points with 39 seconds left and is winning.
 
Well crap. Lol what a MASSIVE choke job. That collapse will end up keeping them out of the tourney for sure now.
 
Uconn's goes on a 12-1 run to end the game 47-42......42 points scored in a game un freaking believable
 
I am still predicting that UCONN will pull a last year, and win the title from a position where no one thinks they can. They always have a great guard, and that wins you titles (see Kemba Walker, Ben Gordon, Shabazz Napier).
 
When you shoot less than 30% and have no players make more than 3 buckets you're in trouble.
