@@ Austin Grandstaff won't be eligible to play for the Sooners until the second half of next season.

Going to be a tough competition for playing time next year. Only Woodard has his spot sewn up 100%.

Good job Traveler. I was hoping you would update the roster like only you can do so well.

I assume as CoachTalk said that it's Bolden or nothing for the rest of this year. That leaves room for Trae Young and another "big" in 2017. Maybe a 3rd player if we don't get Bolden.

at the rate he's progressing, I would imagine it will be very hard to unseat Lattin in the starting lineup.

We need some height BAAAD!
Bolden comes here and he's BMOC from day one. We have no one who actually post up and scores, he'd get fed the ball so much he'd be very happy he came here. We have big 7'Manyang who is still learning the game, Lattin and McNeace who are 6'9" but aren't offensive post players although JM has a decent baby hook, an incoming stretch 4, a few 3/4 hybrids and a ton of ultra talented wings and guards.
We need a BIG badly, and we'd be scary good.

Was told Doolittle is a legit 6'7"- unless he grows 3 inches to 6'10" we'd have a really hard time with the KU's of the world. Maybe Odom or Buford will grow to 6'9" that would be awesome but without a growth spurt from a couple of these guys we will not win an NCAA title because we lack height badly.

However if a couple of our guys learn to play nasty down there like Webster, Ace, Selvy, or Najara, dominating despite being too short to play down there, we'll be fine.

Not sure how it works in Bball, but I thought Austin would have 3 1/2 years of eligibility left. So wouldn't he be considered a RS FR when he is able to play in the second semester?

I really believe that freshman class will be very special before they're done.

He played 10 games this year. His FR has been used up.

I think Manyang is progressing well, and will play a lot of minutes next year unless we bring in a big time big man.

First I am probably enjoying this season as much as the run in '88, but was pondering next season when we lose so much. Truth is looking over the roster, its crazy what Lon has built. Talent top to bottom... Thoughts to below? We can go situational so easily, but Lon sticks with his starters. Biggest worry with this crew is rebounding, undersized with Buford...

Starters(Backups):

C: Lattin(AK/Jamuni)
F: Buford(Rashard?/Freeman/Doolittle)
G: James(Rashard/Freeman)
G: McGusty/or Grandstaff when eligible(basically these guys are Buddy's replacement)
P: Woodard(Strong/McGusty?)

*Also would love to see Bolden join up and slide Lattin down to the starting PF spot.

yeah need some size...hate to say it.

I think JW stays at the 2...Strong at PG unless he just isn't there. Then maybe a Fr.

I see mcgusty with the some of the same transitions as odomes and james. I dont know if he starts. I think he plays and I think austin starts when he is avaiable.

You need to throw grandstaff in at the 3. Bc him and McGusty week both be out there at the same time.

I envision OU being a 5-10 seed in the NCAA tourney next year, but the team in 2 years has a legitimate chance to be special again (in particular if they get Bolden and he stays 2 years).

Yes it is. And then project them as juniors and seniors and OU fans should be giddy about the future, especially if McGusty and Freeman also develop. And we can all dream about Bolden still.
