I didn't realize Embiid was officially out of the first weekend of the NCAA Tourney. That might get KU bumped to a three seed.

He's actually probably done for the season. Self is getting some heat (here in KC) for playing him with the injury late in the season. I think they are sandbagging by saying he will play the 2nd weekend because they don't want to be seeded lower like you expect. I think the chances he doesn't play are 90% or higher.

I didn't see any of KUs big 12 tourney games but did he play vs ISU? If not then he's done, IMO.

I know 6 line might be better for us but it would be unfair for us to drop to a 6 considering we finished 2nd in by far the toughest conference and beat everyone in it except KU. Way too much value placed on early season wins as opposed to body of work if that's the case.

6 seed wouldn't be the worst thing to happen. The matchups are far more important. I'd rather play SMU/Virginia than Tennessee/Louisville. The bracket experts do a fair job predicting who's in and seeding, less so on the exact pairings. I'm ok with a 5-6 seed, but I don't want Louisville or Duke so early.

A 6 seed would be a bit of a slap in the face considering we finished 2nd in the big 12. If it happens, we just have to hope for a nice draw and that we can hit our 3s.

I agree a 6 seed is a slap in the face, but it's not the worst thing IF we get some good matchups. Sometimes being disrespected gives you an edge, at least I'm hoping. If we play as uninspired and lifeless as we did against Baylor, nothing will matter.

I would love to have the 6 seed and be matched up with Nebraska or Xavier, with Virginia as a 2-3 on that side of the bracket. That's my wish.

On a side note, st joes coach has been there forever, like before I was born...almost.

I agree with this because Lunardi goes off the BPI and the committee seems to go off of the RPI.
