Well this 10 team Big 12 thing may not last long afterall

LOL

aTm will fall off the planet if they leave UT's side. Watch and see.

I agree but this could effectively end the Big 12 and make an OU/Texas leave. Texas will probably go independent. OU can go a lot of places. I really believe the Big 12 should have tried to get ND and BYU right away even if it meant allowing them to have their own TV contracts. Those would've been perfect fits to replace what left.

I actually AGREE with Nick. Imagine my surprise.

Delusional Ags. They'd get thrashed in the SEC. But I guess Vandy football needs another brother at the bottom.

Has A&M even been formally asked to join the SEC? Not sure this can all be done behind close doors....

Not sure I agree with that. They could probably pull it off in football, but I think it would really hurt them in other sports, especially baseball. Is ANYBODY independent in baseball? UT has a good athletic program, I really doubt they'd want to leave their smaller programs (non-football, basically) in such a bad position.

UT most likely has an open invitation to the PAC 12 and that's where the'd go.

Dallas Baptist made it to the Super Regionals last year as an independent.

Vandy is improving a bit under their new staff. Recruiting pretty well right now. A&M would be like Arkansas in the SEC. Ok, occasionally make some noise, but never the power of the league. Hey, wait that's them in the Big 12..............................

Don't teams need to join the Pac Ten and SEC in pairs? I don't think it makes a lot of sense for the SEC to take just A&M or for the Pac Ten to take just Texas. When you stop and consider that point, it seems to me OU is in a pretty good spot and could merely take its pick of joining the SEC or the Pac Ten.

Let's face it, we all know about realignment and what drives it at this point. With that said the 3 most desirable schools in the Big 12 in this order are UT, OU, and then A&M. It's about market and revenue. The other remaining schools are after thoughts. Kansas would land on their feet because of their basketball program. After that you have OSU trying to hang on to our coat tails to another conference. OU has zero worries if the conference breaks up.

Apparently the other team that would join the SEC if this happens is Clemson. Maybe the SEC expands ot 16 and adds an OU/Texas or OU/OSU. But I think Texas will go indy for football and join a league like the MWC or Conference USA for the other sports.

This is a bluff... the SEC doesn't want A$M... and to think so is a joke, at best. This is nothing more than a cheap ploy by the tackle box aggies to get the big xii to come calling with more money.

The conference needs to call their bluff and tell them to **** off...
