I dont want to replace him with pg/sg.It may be a gamble but I think cousins can handle the backup pg duties, because I expect Woodard to grow by leaps and bounds next season.
Saying that I want a slasher type guard that can create his own shot and FINISH . I don't want another combo pg, I want a bigger bodied juco whos best abilities is getting to the rim.
I personally don't want Cousins anywhere near the point last year. LK did a great job this past season of not putting Cousins in the spot of having to bring the ball up, but there were a couple of times where you could see that Cousins was still shaky in that regards. No sir. We need to sign somebody that can back up Woodard.

Actually Cousins did bring up the ball under pressure a number of times and very effectively. It was night and day the difference in how the Sooners handled the pressure in 13-14.

Agreed. We already know how that experiment played out.
Cousins was too good as a two guard last year to put him under pressure as a back up point guard again. Somehow, someway, LK needs to bring in a guard who can back up Woodard and leave Cousins alone.
In the end we need an inside presence. I think the only thing keeping this team from being a top 10 team is a little height w/ an offensive skill set and the ability to block a shot to shore up the inside a bit. I would take this over a backup pg any day.
i want a 5th year PG that can play immediately.. helps balance out the class and is a stop-gap that will allow us to recruit PG's the next year with a selling point of HUGE playing time

If they sign a 5th year pg I doubt he is coming in to be a back up. However, I don't understand saying selling next years hs senior pg's with huge playing time.
