What? No one is talking about OU's visitor this weekend?

I couldn't say anything since I saw it on the pay board for Insider.

We have believed Ortiz would be a Sooner for a few months. She is very good and I'm anxious for her to commit.

She is injured right now so hope that she can still make the trip to Oklahoma.

I have heard her name thrown around a bit. After watching this video of her I see why. She just seems like a fit for Sherry and her guys. Of course, now I will be disappointed if she is not a Sooner. I'll still root for her though.

I want her as a Sooner because she fits the profile of the players that I feel that I can trust.

Just from some of the things she has said, I would say she is very caring of others, very respectful, hard worker, and loves basketball. Her Dad has done a great job of raising her.

Ditto, she really sounds like a kid I would love to have in Norman for four years. Her Pop has done a wonderful job raising her under the circumstances.

This is a tweet from Ortiz to Kaylon:

@OhKayKayKay42 girllll you never texted me back!!! You disappeared on me! Smh

That was one thing I always admired about Whitney and Morgan. They were never too busy to stay in touch with recruits.

I said Ortiz was injured. Actually, she has been sick. Hopefully, she will be in good shape by this weekend.

From what I have seen of Ortiz, the thing that stands out is that she can handle the ball. The ball is an extension of her hands. The rest is natural.

In this regard, she seems a lot like Morgan, Maddie, Derica, and Shaya in that the ball seems to find their hands. So many lose the ball, but they seem to attract the ball. Gabi also seems to be able to control the ball until someone is open.

This is great news.
Could be a potential difference maker at PG.

I just wish we had more definitive news about the other 2014 targets especially at 4/5

Watch Ortiz (21) in red and Blockton (11) in white:

I think everyone here shares your concern. From what we've read, it isn't looking good at this point.

Norm,
Sherri's gathering up maybe her best depth at spots 1-3 ever.

But who replaces Griffin next year?

I have no idea unless she intends to go the juco route. The only other option I can think of is, move Kaylon to center.

Well in a top juco list last year, there were a number of JUCO Bigs who were freshman so maybe she is going to hit that list.

Moving Kaylon to center doesn't really solve the issue only makes the PF spot the new problem.

I agree. If Kaylon is the center, we have very little depth at the 4 as well as the 5.

I don't like the prospect of finding immediate help in a juco either. Most of them are generally ineffective their first year in D-1.

Including Sophia Young, who was a raw player with promise her first year as a Lady Bear, but not particularly good. In her second she was the star of the Final Four in their first title run.

Sophia wasn't a JUCO player, she did make the Big 12 conference team 3 years in a row though.

I agree with Norm, I am tired of basically getting JUCO's for a 1 and done, if you get that. We need to continue to push and develop 4 year talent.

I want to point out the obvious about Nicole's position...

Soon (please, NOT THIS YEAR) the low post slot at OU will be wide open. If you are a talented player there, what's not to like at OU? The Sooners will be stacked at 1-3, with promising players soon to make a name at the 4. The right player will visit and see the talent and cohesiveness of these players.

Don't worry, be happy. Sherri will get her "guy".
