What To Work On: Steven Pledger

There is a lot of truth to your post, but I will counter with this: How many folks were convinced that Cade Davis (and Tony Crocker for that matter) would only be three point specialists after their freshmen years?

Would like to get some other folks' takes on this subject. Let's hear em!

I think Crocker is a prime example of what the shot fake can do for your game. He became a totally different player, a slasher, once he had defenders in the air and it gave them that much more to think about. Cade has started to utilize this as well and I look to see that from him more and more next year. I think Pledger can become that type of player and in turn that would open him up for better 3 point shots to where he can square up and not always take off balance 3's.

Pledger is much more of a shooter than Croker or Cade will ever be. People think Cade is a shooter because he is white and they thought Crocker was a shooter because his handles were very limited.

Cade shot around 45% from 3 pt range in high school, had nothing to do with the color of his skin!

I watched Cade play a handful of times in high school his junior and senior years. While I came away impressed with what he brought to the table, being a shooter wasn't one of those things. Cade never was, isn't now, and never will be a 3pt specialist. He just doesn't shoot it that well on a consistant basis.
