Where there's smoke...

I am trying very, very hard not to get myself all excited before someone is actually hired.

I hate these coaching searches. Such an opportunity for disappointment. Even if we hire a good coach, we'll all be bummed because we have been buzzing about Buzz now for days.

Plus, if we do get him, there is no guarantee that he will be successful here. I think it would be a solid hire, but what if we spend millions to buy him out and pay him a 2M contract, then he doesn't win? Where does that leave our program?

Anyway, I'm ready to get this process over with so we can all move on with our lives.

Tad is a good coach, but he was out coached by Capel and staff this year for a big W in Norman.

Losing on the road in conference does not make Boyle a bad coach, just as winning in Norman did not make Pat Knight a good one. I was impressed with the way Boyle's team played this year.

personally I am a big Kevin Stallings fan. He is a proven winner over time and winning and recruiting to Vandy is no easy thing

Good Lord. I expect this type of response from coolm, but it's a tad (pun intended) more disturbing coming from you, Ada. How about going back and reading the first five words in the guy's post?

Please tell me you are not implying you heard this from your sources....I'm sure he's a good dude and a good coach, but he just doesn't excite me...

If hired, however, I will support him fully.

no not at all just personal opinion. He is a proven winner and a great x's and o's guy

Tramel said in the paper yesterday that Stallings wanted the job last time and Joe C passed him up.
