When it's all said and done, I still hope the Thunder take the NBA title.

But, that was pure greatness what happened in Dallas yesterday. I plan to listen to KREF all day long at work to hear the Laker fans' silence/whining.

It comes easy for me to hate the Lakers. I went to grade school in the Bay Area for 4 1/2 years (when the local team was called the San Francisco Warriors and they rarely got past Jerry West and Co.). The whole Team Hollywood element has really turned me off over the years. And to top it off, all the locals in Albuquerque are such Laker front-runners.

And it also doesn't hamper my enjoyment that they went out like punks in the fourth quarter, led by Lamar Kardashian and the uber-cheapie Andrew Bynum. They embarrassed a proud franchise and then some.

I just hope that OKC can beat Memphis. I would love to see a Dallas v. OKC western conference final.

I'm happy LA got clobbered. Hope the Thunder can win against Memphis.

Count me as a rejoicer.

Here's to the Thunder meeting the Mavericks in the Conference Finals.

well as a Mavs fan, i'm rejoicing for many reasons. obviously seeing the Lakers go down is always fun. But even more so when much of the Mavs fanbase was growing weary...and wary of their team and whether they're choke-artists, unlucky, on the decline, whatever.

i'm also a Thunder supporter/encourager (suppose i cant be a real-deal fan) and a Mavs-Thunder series would be utterly fantastic. it's a shame they only play 3 games per season as the current divisions allow at the moment.

As a die-hard Lakers fan since I was a toddler (which was during the Magic/Worthy/Kareem dynasty era, I am not rejoicing. Though, they deserved to lose. Gasol plays like a girl and they have no one that can consistently make the three. Internet chatter has Howard going to LA next season. So I see light on the horizon.

Very bad moves by Odom/Bynum. Never any need for that. LA will be fine. Dr Buss likes to spend, Kupchak will do his homework, and big time players love the stage in LA. Don't get too excited about seeing them down, because it won't last.

Most teams would kill to see people celebrating their exit in the 2nd round, after TWO STRAIGHT TITLES.:D:woot

GO LAKERS!!!!!!!!

As long as Miami DOESNT win it all I will be happy

I have been walking on air since the Dallas win.

I don't know if "rejoice" is the right word, but I'm certainly not shedding any tears.

With Kobe approaching his twilight years, every year they don't win in is a lost opportunity they can never get back. It will get tougher every year from here. They could add a free agent or two and make a run though. Who knows. I think they rely too much on Pao Gasol right now, and he isn't tough enough. If they had a true low-post, physical guy who was reliable, they would still be a championship caliber team, IMO. We'll see how they address that in the off-season.

I'm pulling for my dream finals of OKC vs. CHI though. That would be phenominal.

FWIW, one reason I got added pleasure from the LA meltdown was hearing a few Laker fans on KREF (on-line). Even heard one of them blame the referees for the sweep. :facepalm

As a die-hard Laker fan that watched every minute of every game in the series, the referees had ZERO to do with the loss.

There is rumblings around the franchise that Kobe's wife is to blame. Kind of far fetched, but basically the gist of it is that Pau's wife (who is actually extremely hotter than kobe's wife - imagine that considering how ugly Pau is) got some inside information from Kobe's wife concerning Pau's extramarital-esque issues. As a result, she left Pau. Pau apparently hasn't spoken to Kobe for a couple months. Furthermore, Kobe's wife doesn't like Odom's wife so there is an issue there too.

This is a bunch of high school crap if true and pisses me off. But there are reports that somewhat back this up concerning a riff between Kobe and Pau. And if you watched the games, they haven't been vocal toward each other like they were previously.

Any respect I had for the Lakers is gone after watching Odom and Bynum in the fourth quarter. The announcers are right -- you win with class and lose with class. There was no class in those two.

Happens with almost every NBA/NFL team. Just watch the basketball wives reality show.

You have million dollar former call girls, competing over who's husband signed the biggest contract. If Pau and Kobe allowed that to cost them a title, then they are weaker than weak. Dirk'sw fall away jumpers in their faces was more of the reason than some bimbo's locker room gossip, IMO....

Speaking of which, Dirk's head is probably finally in the right place again after that whole ordeal with his crazy fiancée a couple of years ago.
