Bruce Weber? :facepalm

I can't argue with that selection. Who would have thought KSU would be anywhere near the top 10 in the country? Look on the bright side, though. Once Weber has to start recruiting his own players, they'll fall back to the middle of the pack.

True. I just look at what he was left and say Lon was left...

In my mind Sam Grooms is the most underrated player in the Big 12. (biased opinion obviously).

Most overrated? Marcus Smart. Good player, not great, overhyped.

Not great? Every NBA scout disagrees with you.

You've spoken to them all, have you?

Smart's getting far more than his share of love from the press; please try to be satisfied with that and don't come here to police every post about him.

He's the most prolific flopper in the college hoops, I'll give you that. And it's not even close.

they think he is a "great" prospect for this years draft ...

that is not close to the same thing considering the top of this years draft is said to be horrible historically

When you start having to always mention his intangibles as one of the main reasons why someone is better then his numbers state that guy is probably overrated.

yep he is a good player that is an ok college defender (that grabs a bunch) that is a bad shooter

Would you consider Hield a bad shooter?

Smart 14.9ppg, 5.7reb/g, 4.3ast/g, 40% FG, 28% 3PT, 3steals/g
Hield 8.2ppg, 4.1reb/g, 2ast/g, 39% FG, 27% 3PT, 1.2steals/g

Oh, he also brings those "intangibles" that Hield could only dream about.

Cause people on this board have been spouting what a great offensive player/shooter Buddy is with his knuckleball shot.

Smart is to flopping as Buddy is to defense.

The difference being, of course, that unlike Smart, Hield isn't being heralded by anyone -- OU fans, the media, anyone -- as the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Smart's a better shooter than I am, too, but I'm not being touted for the Wooden award.

And if by "intangibles," you mean flopping ten times a game, you're right: It's Smart in a landslide.

I'm not sure what you mean by intangibles Hield could only dream about. Smart is a better basketball player than Buddy. No one will argue that, but Buddy is every bit the leader Smart is. He is the catalyst for OU's resurgence and leads the team whether he's on the court or not.

Smart is 10x the defender as Buddy is.

He is also a better offensive player to.

Hield is your best freshman by far. The other 2 are average.

I just think it's funny to read all the jealous comments on this board. If you had Smart on your team - do you really think you'd hear all these comments about him here?

Keep on going...they are good reads. That vinny guys comments are the best!

no he really is not .. it is very arguable that he is a better defender at all ..

Smart is more of a gambler defensively than Buddy is, which pushes his steal numbers way up. But I would argue that his overall team defense is not ahead of Buddy's.
