I don't understand. Not saying it is wrong but I need to hear the logic.

The only exposure to Div I basketball for Evans is as an OU player. We all loved him but I would think he should have some Div I experience at least as an assistant in a big program to be ready for OU.

Marquette is in the Sweet Sixteen but they didn't have a great season. They lost all of their key out of conference games to Duke, Georgia, Wisconsin and Vanderbuilt.

Looking at the Marquette site he gets raves as a recruiter, all but three years as an assistant. He has been at Marquette four years, two as an assistant. His current recruiting class consists of 1 4* and 2 3*. Clearly a colorful high energy guy. And I understand the local ties. I'm not sure that counts for a lot at a big program like OU.

Keep in mind that Terry Evans was an assistant at OU one year under Sampson...just sayin'

Buzz has 4 players from the state of Texas. We need someone who can bring in some of those players from Tx.

Buzz has maintained a nice program in a tough league but most important is the fit he makes with our program in this part of the country and his recruiting connections.

Because fans pick coaches they like and then talk about it. You may not agree but that's what makes message boards.

thought Terry was head of basketball operation not an assistant coach.

I was going to start a thread asking the exact same question about Buzz. Plus Buzz doesn't seem to have any sort of a set offensive system.

His teams win
He would excite the fan base because of his personality
He and his wife both have ties to the area

His teams lose more games each year
Winning will excite the fan base
There's other coaches that can recruit the area

His resume shows him losing more games each year.

25-10
22-12
22-14 (and still going)

You are dead on. He is obviously not good enough for OU.

Two games a year for two years isn't much of a trend. He wins games and puts teams in the post season. He recruits the area and has an exciting personality.

You haven't seen coaches make a deep tourny run and end up being a bust?

Why do you keep bringing this up? His team is in the Sweet 16. #winning
