#11 OU vs texas 6pm CST on ESPN

Moser after the game said he first and foremost wanted to apologize to the fans. Said it was all on him.

Missed opportunity. Unacceptable to be out hustled by texas at home. As someone else mentioned, many of our fickle fans won’t be back on Saturday. See if they can pick themselves up off the mat.
That's fine, but this isn't the first time he's had to apologize to the fans on the postgame. Once again, I (amongst others) was fooled by our gaudy non-conference numbers going 13-1, but really beating no one outside of a full-strength Providence (Iowa and USC aren't good at all). And for the third year in a row, we are beginning to be exposed once again in conference as being no better than a run-of-the-mill team at best. We've lost three conference games by 9+ points when the game was pretty much over with 5-6 minutes left as well as our halfcourt offense being absolute ass most of the time. Could we recover and maybe go 9-9 or so?....sure I guess, but recent history under Moser says this team fades. He has a tough task ahead of him getting this group to play clean and somewhat consistent ball moving forward. But his biggest fight is against his own track record.

I tend to be closer to your views of things under Moser, even though I had the Crimson glasses on for a while. However, I DO think this team is talented enough to avoid another awful loss like this one. They may very well drop another home game but I do think tonight was an anomaly. You're never as bad as your worst night and tonight is what I would classify as "worst." I do think the win @ Cincinatti proved this team can be what we want it to be.

I'm not sure who is "cratering." Feel free to enlighten me. Sounds like Uzan and Godwin have had two not great games, but have they completely given up? Is that the sense from tonight?

I don't think you should be accused of being negative. Your concerns with this team were on full display tonight, and are clearly valid.

I now think this team's ceiling is 8-10. I think there are five more wins out there. The good news is that will give them 20 wins and I think they will sneak into the tourney.
I’d say Los has badly regressed. Godwin is just being put in a bad spot. As someone pointed out, his best role is as a backup who plays 12-15 mins. I’m not sure how Hugley isn’t yet in shape to play heavy minutes, but that’s the excuse Moser uses. Those are the two who are really struggling, but even Oweh has tailed off, and we are seeing how JM’s size is a challenge. Fran noted that; he is still thriving when we play with pace or in transition, but Big 12 defenses make it very tough on him in halfcourt. He struggles to get his shot when we bog down.

I hope you’re right. I don’t see 5-13 like last year, but I also think we played such a soft noncon that we don’t have much cushion if we end up worse than 8-10.

Lol… watching pokes tcu… yes pokes attendance is worse…but it’s tcu

I'll continue to watch all our games but this is bad for porter. All the talk about getting the fans out and adding all the beer stations mean nothing when you lay an egg. He's skating on thin ice.
Actually more beer stations help stomach the **** show of tonight… moser is actually brilliant at pushing those

I worked late tonight so I didn't see the game. It looks like it was a great tussle until about 11 minutes left. Can someone give a several-sentence synopsis of what happened?

it took a last second shot tonight for the thunder to wn over the blazers after beating them by 62 two weeks ago. so i’m gonna chalk this up to basketball being basketball. but halfcourt offense is obviously concerning. we have to grind so hard for points. i thought we would be a better 3 point shooting team. and i’m not smart to understand why the guys who can shoot don’t get more open looks playing off the ball.

lots of overreaction in this thread .. was the last 10-14 min ugly yes ... even worse in person ...

but don't get it twisted .. Texas is very very talented ..
texas always looks like a very, very talented team against an OU moser team. Then they fall on their faces against lesser teams. Moser needs to understand what a rivalry game is and how to approach it.

I’m not even going to read through the game thread. What a shitty shitty evening.

So much lost momentum for the season. I don’t even know where to start. All Texas had to do was double JM or Los and we had no idea what to do.

The first half was electric. LNC was rocking like the old days. Then kudos to texas, they shut us the hell up. Such a depressing game

And eff you lnc gestapo. We had to park a block east of Jenkins in a muddy parking lot. We get to the entrance (4 kids in tote by myself). My daughter brought her clutch. Security wouldn’t let it in because they said it was a purse. It was barely outside of the little box they had for size of bags that could come in because of the strap. Duckers wouldn’t let it in. I had to run all the way back to the car. We didn’t get in until 6 minutes to half.

So duck you Neal dean or whatever your self inflated ass selfs name is

Soares made 2/3 FTs to make it 55/54 UT at the 11:00 mark. It seemed like OU couldn't buy a bucket after that, and UT couldn't miss...and UT kept getting almost every rebound. I went through the play-by-play after the 11:00 mark, and by my count:
OU/UT
FGA: 15/9
FGM: 3/5
FTA: 0/10
FTM: 0/8
Reb: 5/13

this is so lol ....... if they had beard as the HC with the same roster they would be in the top 5 currently ..

Yeah, that’s ridiculous. Shame on them for treating you that way. They can easily search the bag or run it through the metal detector. That’s just ridiculous.

they lose plenty, just not to OU or moser. This is not a great texas team. I’m sick and tired of losing to these assholes.

Texas dominated the majority of the game. Led by 9 in the first half, then we went on a huge run the last 8 mins or so because they turned it over a ton and we got transition buckets. They took the lead for good early in the second half, we stayed in touch till just past the midway point, then they boat raced us. Kicked our butts on the boards (and they are a bad rebounding team), Los was awful, and JM struggled to get any shots in the halfcourt. The offense looked pretty much like last year’s version, save for the few minutes when we got in transition.

You know what’s funny? When I got back to the arena, I went through the metal detectors and went straight to my seat with the kids. I didn’t even scan my tickets. Just totally blew past them and didn’t even realize it until I got to our sests

I do blame moser for this loss. We didn’t shoot it good but this team was not motivated and he had no answer for the double on our ball handlers. And soares and Moore seemed to be the only guys playing with energy. The vibe was off this game
