#11 OU vs texas 6pm CST on ESPN

Completely agree. Also, rebounding is mostly about effort and we let a bad rebounding team kill us on the boards. Texas came to play and we did not. Total embarrassment. I am quickly losing faith in moser but im also worried we can’t hire anyone better. Idk. I’m so deflated after this game.
I think OU could get someone better. I think the key is to move on after this year if OU does not make the tourney. OU kinda gets a fresh start in the SEC and a chance to bring in a new coach and start anew.

I said it last year and I'll say it again. There's nothing wrong with Moser being an overall good basketball coach but not good enough for the Big 12/SEC. He is a better recruiter than Lon, but that's about as far as it goes. I will ALWAYS give him credit for putting the roster together that he did this year. This year has far exceeded my expectations. But my expectations were so low in the first place because his first two years.

I want him to be successful. He truly seems like a great guy. But he may just not be able to get it done.

As for Texas: a week ago, they were being mocked by the board for being awful, and terribly coached. Much like people were calling for sweeps of OSU, Tech, KSU, West Virginia, etc a few weeks ago. How quickly people lower expectations once they realize those teams are improving and we are regressing.
Well I think that's a reason not to lose our minds too bad after this loss. Texas has went from being laughed at to winning two top 15 games. So much can happen in a week of basketball. A win against Tech and KState will almost erase this loss.

Ya.. but the odds of winning BOTH … are not good. KSU is better and tt is good.

Hopefully

Moser needs to beat texas in Austin to get this game back imo. You can’t lose your 1st 6 against texas.

Honestly, not for me. I'd be happy about winning those but getting embarrassed like this at home by UT isn't really salvageable. Really, the only close antidote for me would be to go in dry on them in Austin.

Wonder if our 15 point loss is biggest home loss this year. I mean it’s so hard to win on the road.. but win by 15?

If Moser is able to keep this backcourt together, it would take an all-time bad collapse for me to want to move on. If we ran it back with this roster and added a quality 5, our 2025 team would have the potential to be one of the top 3 teams of our program's last 20 years. Anything below top 5 would disappoint me.

If we miss the tourney and can't keep at least two of Javian, Milos, and Otega -- then I'd move on quickly.

Fair assessment. I don't envy Moser in any way, especially in this era of college sports. But it can be done.

I understand your point, but I’m much more of a large sample size guy. What I’ve seen for three years (a) gives me little hope we will win both, and (b) makes me think there will be at least three or four absolute clunkers like this. So even if we win those two, I’d expect it to be quickly offset.

I’ll get ripped and called negative and accused of having a personality disorder, but I’ll say it: this team will struggle to make the tournament. We are going in the wrong direction as a team, and too many of the individual players are cratering. We have yet to play Baylor or Houston, still have to play KU again, have a likely loss in Manhattan, go to Ames, and we all know how Moser has done against OSU. Hard to be optimistic that there are a lot of wins out there. We should beat Tech Saturday. They are riding high and we should come in desperate. But after that? I’m not seeing it.

Wishcasting. The backcourt greatness is overstated. These guys are good but when you compare them to their Big12 peers and watch them In Big12 play, There’s a lot to be desired. I’m tired of hearing about potential. They need to perform, NOW. Until they deliver the goods consistently, it’s still a wish.

I'll continue to watch all our games but this is bad for porter. All the talk about getting the fans out and adding all the beer stations mean nothing when you lay an egg. He's skating on thin ice.

Moser after the game said he first and foremost wanted to apologize to the fans. Said it was all on him.

Missed opportunity. Unacceptable to be out hustled by texas at home. As someone else mentioned, many of our fickle fans won’t be back on Saturday. See if they can pick themselves up off the mat.

I tend to be closer to your views of things under Moser, even though I had the Crimson glasses on for a while. However, I DO think this team is talented enough to avoid another awful loss like this one. They may very well drop another home game but I do think tonight was an anomaly. You're never as bad as your worst night and tonight is what I would classify as "worst." I do think the win @ Cincinatti proved this team can be what we want it to be.

I'm not sure who is "cratering." Feel free to enlighten me. Sounds like Uzan and Godwin have had two not great games, but have they completely given up? Is that the sense from tonight?

I don't think you should be accused of being negative. Your concerns with this team were on full display tonight, and are clearly valid.

I now think this team's ceiling is 8-10. I think there are five more wins out there. The good news is that will give them 20 wins and I think they will sneak into the tourney.
