Looking to next year, we should have Gioya back which raises the question of who will start at her position. One would think that Peyton will start for sure. Does anyone think that Chelsea can unseat Gioya as a starter?

We have to wait to see how Gioya heals, and we need to see how Chelsea develops. Starting as a freshman over an established star is difficult.

Ortiz, Little, Carter, Dungee, Vivi unless manning come back, I believe Mulkey will start about 5 games in to the season.

Manning will be a redshirt senior that has the potential of two more years after this one, assuming a medical redshirt, which she might do if she saw a national title on the horizon.

I suspect that we are looking at:
Vivi
Maddie
Peyton
Gioya
Gabbi

EJ is coming on so well that she might challenge. I think you have to consider Mulkey, even early. If she has enough to cope with D-1, she could be a defensive stopper that would make this long-armed team very long-armed. You have to get past Maddie and Nancy? Peyton has good hands on defense. Makes a defensive nightmare. But, I suspect that if Nancy starts, Vivi or EJ will start in a high-low situation.

It would not be a suprise if Mulkey started. I think Dungee will take a little time more because of Maddie, Little, Carter and Ortis than her ability.

I do believe that Llanusa (if she comes to OU) will be a starter from day one.

IF Mulkey can score, I also expect her to start. Unless our coaches stop contacting Llanusa, I don't think she will back out of her commitment, her family has always been huge Sooner fans.

I say Llanusa starts as a true freshman. I have a feeling she is going to be that good as she develops over time.

I want to go see her play again soon to see how much she has progressed from last year. I still think her best days are ahead of her when she gets good coaching and hits the weight room. She has a scorers mentality and she is athletic. I like that combination.

I would have to assume we will still be rotating the inside kids next year. So who starts may not be as critical as playing time per game. Vivi needs the 4 minute rotation as much as anyone. That could work well for Nancy too.

Plus Treece will be in the rotation somewhere too - in addition to the others playing inside this year.

I expect a HUGE improvement from EJ which would justify a lot of playing time also.

Llanusa may start. At that time, Peyton, Derica, and T'Ona will be gone, as well as perhaps Gioya and Maddie (depending on a redshirt and medical redshirt). There may be some openings at guard.

I hope I'm wrong but I suspect next year will be Maddie's last as a Sooner. I think she will want to get on with her life.

I suspect that if Mulkey pans out, and Dungee and Llanusa come along, that Maddie will want to play on a team that has Mulkey, Llanusa, Dungee, EJ, Gabbi, Vivi, Penzo. If she sees a title there, she will probably return. She may well end up in coaching, and this is her life.
