2019 SG De’Vion Harmon Committed

LK is very happy with his commitment. They also want Wilson and I believe De'Vion has told OU not to worry that he will be coming with him.

I’ll repeat what I said sometime ago. I will be shocked if Jalen picks anyone but OU. For one thing, I was told he’s a strong OU lean. My info came from a family member through our son, who is very close friends with Jalen’s mother and her brother.

Since Jalen’s entire family, from his mother to his cousins are rabid Sooner fans, I can’t see him picking anyone but the Sooners. Now, with his teammate and close friend De’Vion Harmon on board, OU’s case is even stronger.

There are no certainties in recruiting, of course, but I will continue to say he’ll be a Sooner until I’m proven wrong.

Ada has been on this for a couple of years.

Interviewer is a special cat but some hints in this interview as well.

I’m telling you it’s going to be hard to hang on to Harmon. He’s a top 15 player just like Trae young.

He looked over at Coach Cal in the middle of the game, who was there mainly watching south Garland ty Maxey. And says “Should’ve offered me a scholly”

Harmon loves OU, they’ve been on him the longest and he’s been an ou lean for years.

Your last two posts seem contradictory, CoachTalk. Do you mean that Harmon is not fully committed to OU and is still looking around, or just that other schools are going to be going after him right up until signing day, even though he is solid to OU?

Other schools going really really hard after him. I think he is solid OU but wants that blue blood offer like teammate jalen Wilson.

I hope coach cal doesn’t offer.

After a small scare. Harmon on board 100%. Not that he wasn’t but you know that smoking hot popular girl that flirts a lot? It’s always nice to feel wanted by someone else occasionally.

Mom and dad Harmon are head over heels for OU:

They are actively recruiting Jalen Wilson, Zach Harvey, and drew timme to OU.

Parents love the fact that staff lets players “be them” and not restrict them. Trae young effect

Lot of these types of tweets and staff is eating it up!

What makes OU_MBBall Coach Kruger a great coach is that he teaches his guys how to play out of concepts and spacing and then trust them to make the right play. The concepts fit his personnel and their skill sets. It a tad more complicated than you realize.

I thought Chris Collins' comments were interesting that LK uses different angles in the half court offense that really fit his personnel.

Plus, it always looks good when you make shots.:woot

Does this mean that Harmon will sign with OU even if offered by "bluebloods"?

This is pure gut feeling with a tad of knowledge about DH. Yes I think LK style of letting guys be themselves, ala TY, yes he is a sooner.

Because even KU and UK DUKE are system teams.

Mom absolutely loves this program.

What is it about what coach Lon does? Does he run specific sets to put players in spots or is it just a green light from specific places? I see these guys getting the ball at the same spots all the time and their shots are easy to chart because they always come from the same spot. I'm not talking about the open court stuff obviously, but he has to have some kind of rule about for them to shoot with such particularity and still have the freedom they do.

I think it’s all the above. I think there are a lot of nba concepts. Spacing! Very rarely do they look all congested. Staff teaches them how to be successful in games.

Game shots from game spots. Practice what you are going to get in games.

Yes the fast pace but rarely do these kids take bad shots. Yes they do occasionally but not as often as you would think.

Avg only 13 turnovers a game.

Trae is a volume scorer and takes some deep deep deep 3’s but that’s him. Lon is a players coach. But they respect him more than anyone

exactly! for as much freedom as they have you just rarely see them take bad shots. I do like that aspect of a faster pace also - you dont see any last second shots with this group.

The vast majority of bad shots I observe are Lattin or McNeace taking a turnaround jumpshot. If I live the rest of my life and not see Lattin take another jumpshot I will be happy.

True. If lattin would focus on rebounding, blocking/altering shots, and just practice dunking and layups, he could get back to really helping the team.

He shouldn't even practice mid-range (oh and work on FTs)

He may get it going again

He's shooting .750 from the free-throw line this season. I'd be very pleased if he kept that up; it's hard to complain about .750 from a big man.
