2025-2026 Roster (as of 7April25) Davis and Pack Committed

Nwanko isn't a guard right? You are downplaying forsythe. Dude is going to be a beast. I hope he doesn't start. Bc that would mean we added serious talent
How is Nwankwo not a guard? I guess you could call him a small forward, but he is going to play minutes as the 3. He could play some 4 when we go small.

I think the Dayton hype train is a little out of control. He'll score some, but he is an absolute liability on defense right now. As is Pack. THAT was the point I made about starting the two next to each other. You can't do that.

I have to think, as of right now, the plan is to start Pack at point guard and have Dayton back him up. If Dayton can't play point (yes, I know he can get minutes at the 2 as well), he loses even more value.

All the talk on this board about size, athleticism, and defense, and Dayton is going to be the stand out? A guy that doesn't have good size, good athleticism, or play good defense? I don't get it. Dude had two good offensive games all season. Let him develop.

What do you know about nwanko's defense? Nothing? Nwanko might be a guard. Well see. He got nice boards. But juco you can almost throw everything out..

I think forsythe has plenty of quickness and speed to play good defense. I think the comments that he couldn't defend was the thing that was blown out of proportion.. to me it looks like dayton has plenty of athleticism. I mean he blew by guys all year in the SEC. He is shorter for sure. I'm sure forsythe has been counted out his whole career for obvious reasons.. and with that, comes a junkyard mentality normally. We will wait and see. But no one on here is saying that he's going to be all conference or anything so I'm thinking your the only saying that people are overrating him

OU views him very much like moore .... but a little more of a wing ... he is a 3/4 ..

If they viewed him remotely as a fully time 4, we'd be done recruiting 4's. The fact that we still are tells you where Nwankwo is likely to get his minutes as of now.

He's a 3 that can play the 4 if we go small. But Porter wants to rebound better. You don't do that playing Nwankwo at the 4 for extended periods of time.

We're just going to have to agree to disagree for now.

He looks way more athletic on offense, but I saw a lot from him on defense that gives me great concern. And I think it'll only get exposed more the more he plays. Coming off the bench, not playing much early in the season, he wasn't really game planned for (against) by most teams. The more he plays, the more they'll be looking at his tendencies before games.

Happy to be wrong, but I thought he had very slow feet this year.

I'm guessing that as of now the starting lineup looks like Pack/Jones/Nwankwo/Davis/Wague. Assuming he's healthy, Jones at the 2 makes a lot more sense than Dayton in my opinion and that lineup gives us a lot of size and athleticism

Best case I think you hope we get a guy like Lindsay, and maybe another Center.

PG - Pack / Forsythe
SG - "Lindsay" / "Portal"
OG - Jones / Nwankwo / Atak
PF - Davis / Nwankwo
C - Wague / "Portal" / Rodgers

Ten different players above. Two below. I think they need a kid like Lindsay, and possibly another guard that can back them up and maybe play the point some. Depending on how much they want to play Nwankwo at the 3, another true 4 wouldn't hurt either. That would improve guard (1-3) depth too.

Won't play much - Blair / Holst

he is coming off a major injury and has never played at this level ... you don't put all of your eggs in that basket ..

i can tell you that if he was healthy last season the expectation was that he would have gotten ALL of the back up 4 min and also played some on the wing ..

We may see things slightly differently, which is totally cool this far out, but I have a hard time imagining Pack and Lindsay on the court together. Both of them are open doors on the defensive end. Especially with Davis not offering you much on that side of the ball either. In an ideal world, let's assume we get Lindsay and Campbell (which I believe Coach may have alluded to in the portal thread, not to put words in his mouth). I think it looks something like this:

PG - Pack / Lindsay / Forsythe
SG - Jones / Campbell
SF - Nwankwo / Jones / Atak
PF - Davis/ Nwankwo / Atak
C - Wague / Rodgers

I'm just of the opinion that Pack needs guys around him that are good at moving off the ball and playing good defense. Jones and Campbell fit that better than Lindsay. I could see Lindsay being asked to lead the second unit with occasional runs with the first teamers. But again, there's still so much we don't know and a few more portal spaces to fill for now.

So for the guys currently in the fold our line up would look something like this?

PG - Pack /Forsythe/Brown
SG - Brown/Jones / Blair
SF - Jones/Nwankwo / Atak/ Blair
PF - Davis/ Nwankwo / Holst
C - Wague / Rogers/Holst

Dayton can be a weapon offensively. Has all the tools and the mentality -- would be a great option for 6th man this year as an offensive threat. Defensively, he stayed in front of his man, but got bodied or shot over in the lane. Going to need to develop his strength big time to grow as a defender.
