This is a small sample against Belgian competition, but here goes.
Three-Point shooting and total points in 3 games
(Sorted by leading scorers)
Cam Clark .. 0 for 1 (.000) .... 46 points (15.3 ppg)
Cousins ...... 0 of 3 (.000) .... 44 points (14.7 ppg)
Hornbeak ... 6 of 12 (.500) .... 39 points (13.0 ppg)
Spangler .... 4 of 7 (.571) ..... 36 points (12.0 ppg)
Bennett ..... 0 for 0 (.000) .... 35 points (11.7 ppg)
Woodard ... 4 of 8 (.500) ...... 32 points (10.7 ppg)
Neal .......... 3 of 9 (.333) ..... 18 points (6.0 ppg)
Booker ....... 3 of 14 (.214) .... 15 points (5.0 ppg)
CJ Cole ...... 0 for 1 (.000) ...... 9 points (3.0 ppg)
Observations:
Earlier this year, there were some folks on this board that predicted Cameron Clark might lead the Sooners in Scoring in his senior season. Could they be proven to be correct?
Balanced scoring: It is encouraging to see six players average 10+ points per game (ppg), and this is without Buddy.
Ryan Spangler shows better shooting range than I expected. His ability to step out to 3-point range is a plus.
C.J. Bennett may be a more productive offensive post player than many of us might have expected.
Hornbeak and Woodard are shooting well from long-range. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come.
Isaiah Cousins is developing into a scoring machine. He has come a long way in one year.
Frank Booker has averaged almost five trey attempts a game. You want a shooter to be unafraid and shoot the ball, so this is a good thing. He obviously needs to hit a better percentage as time goes on.
Another interesting stat follows:
Steals through three games
> Hornbeak ... 12 steals (4 per game)
> Cousins ....... 9 steals (3 per game)
> Woodard ..... 9 steals (3 per game)
The OU guards are just downright pesky on defense, including Buddy once he gets back on the floor.
Leading Rebounders through three games
> Spangler .... 25 rebounds (8.3 rpg)
> Bennett ..... 21 rebounds (7.0 rpg)
> Cam Clark ... 20 rebounds (6.7 rpg)
> Cousins ...... 13 rebounds (4.3 rpg)
> Tyler Neal ... 12 rebounds (4.0 rpg)
> Booker ....... 11 rebounds (3.7 rpg)
