All appear to be squashes.

ISU already beat UCSB 77-60.

OSU already beat Ark State 76-34.

Baylor plays Houston Baptist at 3:30

KSU plays Chicago State at 5:30

TCU plays Incarnate Word at 8:30

Looks like Karen Jensen has begun to assert herself already.

Seanna Johnson keeps going on. There needs to be an Energizer Bunny Award. She isn't tall enough to be among the leaders in scoring and rebounding every year.

Evidently Jaden Hobbs got injured in OSU's exhibition and is out for the year. That's really going to hurt their back court situation.

Just watched the first quarter of the Baylor game. HBU is horrible with 8 freshmen and six sophomores. They do have a senior who had about the only field goal in the first quarter.

Mompremier is better. Can't tell about anyone else. The officiating and the opposition is too bad to be able to tell anything.

Houston Baptist 43
Baylor 118
It wasn't this close.

Incarnate Word 40
TCU 88

Chicago State 33
Kansas State 83

This is correct. She had a knee injury in the last 4 minutes of the exhibition game. That tremendously hurts the backcourt that OSU was going to rely on. She seemed in control at all times. The other freshman are still a bit out of control.

OSU is going to have to make games sloppy in order to win. I just don't see a lot of offense from this group.

I think we'll find out a lot about Baylor and Texas this week.

Yesterday Texas lost to Stanford, and they looked very ordinary... They can't shot to save there life, and the half court offensive they attempted to run was pretty much non existent. Biggest shock was how out of shape Joynor Homles is... while I think she'll be good/ All conference type of player I don't think she'll be the game changer I expected her to be...

Baylor took down a UCLA team that Kornet started for, and features the best point guard in the country in Jordan Canada. Brown #21 for the bears had a monster game with 25 points, 19 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks, she's also trimmed down a tone... Baylor doesn't have great guard depth, Wallace is an Avg guard and she had to play a lot of minutes...

I think Baylor will go on to win the big 12 but the gap between the top 4 teams could be some exciting games...

I saw the first half of the Texas game, and the second half of the Baylor game. I thought Texas had more guard skill, but really lacked on the inside. Holmes had some decent moments, but is a long way from being a major factor, kind of what I expected when I saw her in AAU. There is an upside. Once Stanford's McKee got untracked, they put Texas away.

Baylor actually trailed at the half. I think Mompremier is the starter. Mulkey played the same five, along with Brown instead of Mompremier, for the entire second half without substituting until they put Mompremier in for about a minute with four minutes left in the game. Even when they got a 19-point lead, they didn't sub. Supposedly, Mulkey put her defensive team on the floor and wouldn't sub for them. Cox looked very ordinary in the first two games.

I was surprised that Stanford won so easily. For Texas, Brooke McCarty looked very impressive at times.

And I believe Holmes will develop and become a key part for Texas. One issue she had was consistently abandoning her spot to run across the lane, allowing Stanford to get back door basket after back door basket. It made Texas look really dumb - but was to a large extent the terrible decision making of Holmes. But she was a Freshman playing in her first game. She will probably learn over the season.

If Nancy develops she will create huge problems inside for opponents. That may be our best hope against Texas and Baylor. At the same time she has quite a bit of growth still needed. A few times she did not handle movement by Southern Illinois players very well.

UConn did not look very impressive in the game I watched them in. It will be interesting to see what BU can do against them in a few days.

Texas clobbered Houston Baptist 98-46 today with Holmes scoring 22 with nine boards, shooting 8 of 17 (1 of 2 from three). Houston Baptist lost earlier to Baylor 118-43. They are not a good team, barely a scrimmage. I think OCU is better, much better. I saw more good play from Midwestern.
