Just read a report on another site that 7' 3" JUCO center, Marial Dahl, who signed with Houston out of Hillsborough Community College, received a release from his LOI and is looking around for a different school. He averaged 8 rebounds and 8 blocks per game last season.

I have no idea if this guy is a D-1 caliber player? But he's tall and he blocks shots, and for those who feel OU needs a true center, this may be your man. :D

Here are a couple of articles I found when he sighed with UH:

Has this guy never heard of Blake Griffin? or Longar Longar? Coach has shown he can get in on guys late and bring them in.

Since he's such an Akeem fan I'd double team with two OU alums - Longar Longar and Abi Olajuwan. See if he can resist that combo. Then Blake drops by while he's taking the tour.

7'3'' centers can be completely worthless. However, this guy averaged 8 blocks per game, so I have no doubt he would be able to help this team just by blocking shots alone.

Can't contribute less than our past center cuz he never saw the floor.. Let's see what capel does

Brian Bannister was 7'5" and the only impact he made was occupying a seat on the bench that could have been otherwise used for somebody who could play.

7'3" centers who aren't five-star recruits and/or in the NBA generally are. However, 7'3" players with little or no skill can still make an impact in college ball, at least on the defensive end.

Thabbet...! Who almost came to OU...!

Unfortunately, Mark Cline who coached the post players is going to Marshall and will not be here to develop players like Longer and Griffin.

You don't think we can't get another coach as good or better at developing post players as Cline? I think it's doable. We'll see who Capel pulls in.

Some have mentioned Jeff Webster or Tommy Griffin. They may not be the ones, but I think Jeff is capable of picking good replacements.
