7 Wildcats going pro = #BuddyBack

That's almost 1/4 of the first round maybe? I don't think Buddy will be a first rounder, so I hope he stays and leads us to a big 12 title

Can't hurt.

Yep. Right now I think he's in the area of competing with the Harrison brothers to sneak into the first round, and I think GMs will view them to have more upside.

at worst it'll give him more pause before thinking about leaving.

Hide yo recruits from Cal... he got a roster to fill.

Some chatter about the Duke players sticking around. I don't see it happening. Two of them are top 5-7 picks, and they just won the NC. Not much of a reason to stick around. But the chatter is out there.

Okafor and Winslow have to go. Jones probably should go could stay, Grayson should come back.

I found this tidbit from the ESPN.com article encouraging:

After consulting more than 10 NBA executives regarding their draft stock, the consensus was that the [Harrison] twins will both likely be selected somewhere in the second round.

If the Harrison twins (especially Aaron) are hearing 2nd round, I can't imagine that Buddy is going to hear much better.

He barely left the bench for Duke. I assumed he was a definite player that returns.

Kid has a lot of potential, but I don't see him leaving this year. No way he'd be a first round pick.

Captain Obvious reports that Okafor has declared for the draft...

They are saying he could be a first round pick. Teams will draft high talent prospects off elite teams early in the draft. Look at plenty of Kentucky guys as examples.

I would assume he comes back, but he may decide he'd rather get paid to develop on an NBA bench.

Grayson Allen's potential timeline is not on the same horizon as some of the players people are mentioning.

I don't think there's any question about that.
One huge game does not a first round pick make. There was a 17-game stretch from November to February in which he scored fewer points COMBINED than he did in the championship game.

I wonder if there's any thought by the NCAA to limit the number of players that receive schollies in any four year period......I don't mind players going one and done, but if they're all on the same team, it looks like the talent disparity is pretty obvious. And yes, the other schools with one or no nba players might be able to win it all, but it's not likely.

The NBA drafts on potential. They know they can develop you just as well as you can playing for Duke, and if you have the talent someone will take you. Allen was an elite high school recruit, it's not like he came out of nowhere. Top 25 high school kids are expected to end up first round picks. It's not like he couldn't start at taco tech, he was coming off the bench for the national champions.

he barely got off the bench this year, I'm sure the kid can play but I really think teams would want to see a little bit more of him before taking him as a 1st rounder. The only film they'd have on him probably came in 3 games with one of those being a 40 point win against Wake Forest.

He was a top 30 guy out of HS but I don't think he was ever billed as a "Can't miss guy" especially at his size.

Yeah, sure, but they don't draft guys that don't play double digit minutes in college. He very well could be a first rounder some day. But it's not this year.

It happened last year. A team with a bunch of 4 year players, except one who'll be a 3 year player, beat Kentucky and came within a couple of possessions of winning the national championship this year. Kentucky was awesome but Kansas had 2 1-&-done players and most consider their season a disappointment.

I'm not at all convinced that all the teams with 1-&-done players are necessarily better than those without them. 1-&-done players are often about potential, not production (Kelly Oubre, for example ). That doesn't necessarily make them better now.
