Anderson to Arkansas gaining steam

It would be very good for OU if Ark would get filled by Anderson, takes away our richest competition for a coach

I'd rather have another VCU coach (either Grant or Smart would be ok with me).

I still don't think Anderson leaves, though.

Heck, bring Anderson to OU if he's willing to move.

Gottlieb is saying that his sources are reporting that it is not a done deal, but who knows?

I dont know what to think of this...

On one hand, it gets Anderson the hell away from Kansas. KU owns this league in basketball, and leaves everyone else to squabble for second best.Arkansas presents a situation where you can be one of the premier programs in the league.

With an entire team coming back, plus a good recruiting class, its a VERY risky move for Anderson. They have a great arena, seem to be able to recruit whoever they want, have Sawyer as a fan, and its a hostile environment in Columbia. They pretty much kill everyone but Kansas in that building.

Im not sure what you could accomplish at Arkansas that you cant at Mizzou.

yep...a little less lateral than OU, but still kinda lateral.

Some very big numbers being thrown around by Arkansas fans. Some seem to believe they're prepared to make Anderson one of the top 5 highest paid coaches in college basketball.

But then again these are the same people who believe Bill Self is a serious candidate.

I would hate to lose him, but the right coach should be able to come in and win early AND build on that success quickly (six scholarships in the new coach's first full class).

Are mizzou fans disappointed in with this season? Or did they play and finish about as you guys expected?

Definitely disappointed. We had final four aspirations and got bounced in the first round after being one of the last handful of teams in the tournament.

Most are still in complete support of Anderson's ability as a coach, though (although there are some tired of what they perceive as him looking for another job every year).

Expectations for this season were based on Mitchell getting eligible and Ratliffe being better than he was (along with the rest of the team being a bit more consistent). Nothing seemed to go our way this season, though.

Would love to see him go to Arky. That program needs to be back as a relevant program.

Pretty much read my mind. I totally agree. Maybe he is angling for a few more duckets at Mizzou????????

I think Anderson gets way too much credit for that 1994 championship team. He was an assistant coach on a team loaded with talent. I think he has just been "ok" as the head coach at Missouri.

Mizzou on the road this year was 40 minutes of layups for the opposing team
