I just get more and more mad the more I think about it. I honestly think it's crap that we are a 3 seed and have to play at someone else's home court. Honestly this shouldn't be how the NCAA places teams. Dayton didn't earn this they were An 11 seed and should have been shipped off. I know there's nothing we can do now and ya gotta play where your put but this needs to be changed quick. It's pointless to fight for a top 3 seed if you end up having to play a BONIFIED road game. Just think they coulda done a better job of rewarding a top 12 team...anywho boomer sooner! Let's beat them on their home floor!

The game is in Columbus, Ohio, not Dayton. While Dayton will have a home court advantage in fan support, it is not their home court.

Besides, it is what it is. We can moan and complain for hours on end, and it will make no difference. The Sooners need to play hard, with focus and determination, and they must execute. That is true no matter the location or opponent. NCAA wins are tough to achieve.

I'm sure everyone on this board is, or at least they should be. I know I am! It's ridiculous and just shouldn't happen. Dayton is being rewarded for being a play in game team by getting 3 home games. Hopefully we make it a moot point tomorrow, but it shouldn't be a point in the first place.

Its not an excuse, its a legitimate advantage for Dayton. If this were a true neutral court I think Oklahoma wins this game fairly easily. Since its basically a road game I think itll be a dog fight with Dayton having a slight advantage because of what's at stake. Poor job by the NCAA committee.

Think if this game was in OKC, it'd be a huge advantage for Oklahoma and it would be deserved because Oklahoma is a 3 seed.

It's not there home floor...stop with the excuses and win the game

Might not be their home floor but it's still a home environment. Everyone that was at the game last night said how much of a home game environment it was. It's not an excuse because we haven't even played, so there's nothing to make excuses about. Just saying how stupid it is.

I would feel a lot more comfortable if this game was in OKC or Tulsa. Did you hear the crowd last night for the game against Providence? The place was packed and it was heavily a Dayton crowd. It's 70 miles to the Dayton campus, and in the same state.

Would they even be here if the play-in game was in Idaho? You can't deny the advantage for them. The NCAA should have put them in another region.

In spite of that, I'm OK with the matchup.

Of course it is an advantage, but the deed is done. I hope the OU team is not looking for excuses. Just go out and win the game.

I definitely think it's ridiculous. It's a result of the committee's absurd over emphasis of geography. It's fine if they're trying to reward top 16/20 seeds with sites close to home. They earned it. But putting an 11 in a region where they will wind up playing roughly an hour from home is over the top. They could have easily put Dayton in the Tuesday play in game that fed the winner to the West/Jacksonville site.

Oh well. As others have said, it is what it is and it does little to b!+ch about it now. Still, this is something the committee should seriously examine going forward.

It's absolutely ridiculous. It would be like if we were an 11 seed who got to play a 3 seed in OKC. Sure, it's not our home court, but it might as well be.

Hopefully our guys come out focused and keep the crowd out of it. We haven't won in an environment that will have the crowd favor the opponent as much as this one all season. Maybe OSU.

I think it helps us. Now it can be us against the world. We can use it for some motivation.

They dont get the shooting advantage of being at home. They get a crowd. Heck, a lot of kids love being against the crowd and gbet power from boos etc...

As long as they're not getting the shooting advantage I dont care. As the dog they woulda had the crowd advantage anyway.

They'd likely have the crowd as an underdog anyways.

Anybody that thinks this is a big deal, is just looking for excuses. OU needs to win this game. OU should win this game. If we don't, it'll be b/c we didn't play well enough. Period.

agreed 1000%. All they're getting is a crowd that they woulda already had. I am not concerned as long as they don't get their floor and their backboards.

Yep. Home floor (rims, etc) would be much more of an advantage.

So just a random crowd nowhere near Ohio, maybe cheering a little for the underdog, would be the same as a full house of Dayton fans an hour from campus?

Kind of reminds me of the '88 National Championship game. A much smaller magnitude of course.

It is what it is. Get over it.

You're just setting up an excuse in case we lose tomorrow.

the only ones who would be cheering for OU would be the few OU fans and support staff who were in attendance. The rest would be cheering for Dayton anyway.

It's just a fact. accept it.
